    Default Uncomfortable Gli

I have a 1.6gli my ride is very uncomfotable and is very jumpy my family feel very tired after long journey and also there is a lot of noise in car.

i think the tyres are main culprit ihave dunlop FM901 unidirectional tyres and they are also very hard.

    Any Suggestions

funny said portage. anyways, mannnnnnnnn, the Gli was the best of the best. what i mean is that the indus version is the best of all the models of Corolla produced so far and Gli is still on the top of the line. hence, it's either the shocks (most probably) or the tires if you say so. just remember that the average tire ought to be replaced every 50,000km if used continuosly. i had to change mine much earlier because the car kept standing for nearly 2.5 years. the other thing is also that your family's growing old so things change with time. still, you havent specified what kind of noise you hear because that's something fishy and got the least to do with tires as far as my limited knowledge is concerned.

    @wasim87

brother check the shocks n secondly No Need to Change Tyres...just look for the tyre pressure..sometimes we just ignore checking tyre pressure n as u know tyre pressure tends to increase on its on in summers so anything above 28 psi will be uncomfortable plus noisy...check the tyres pressure first before making any further inquiry.

we have FM901s in our XE
thou the tire has hard sidewalls and is definatly noisy
    but by no means uncomfortable
the tires are 40K driven but are in really good shape
grip is good, would recommend it to anyone.
we have CNG and spacers installed in the back, we should have bumpier ride, but its really fine.
do check other stuff mentioned by others b4 replacing the tires

i have heard that unidirectional or racing tyres are less comfortable as compare to soft tyres and
they are noisy is this correct

    Thanks for your comments

Yesterday i changed my tyres with my friend corolla he has general stock tyres.

Now my ride was completely changed it was very silent and comfortable.

Now the noise i was experincing was in my friends car and his ride also became jumpy.

    What this means tyres.......

i certainly do hope you havent installed those permanently! General tires are the cheapest and thus the worst in the market. won't last longer then 20,000 km i tell you. i always get my new cars' tires changed right after delivery.

totally agree with RedBull_ar. FM901's are noisy but not uncomfortable. Try reducing the air pressure for comfort. For noise you'll have to change the tires.
