have u ever driven cars with cvt gears? I ve driven n seen many cvt cars doin more than 100k km n still work fine if u use proper cvt gear oil it will last long, most popular jdm cars like Toyota axio, premio, vitz, prius n few others car comes with cvt gearbox none of them complained cvt gear wear out too quickly......if u know how to maintain cvt gearbox it will last long but our dumb non educated mechanic fool ppl here put regular ATF oil n say this cvt gearbox broke down due to non-durable n say other excuses
My lugnuts require more torque than your Vtec can put out...

Yup I have. I'm not talking about the mechanic's faults or the use of wrong oil. Cvt transmissions are delicate stuff. If one drives these cars with a light foot, then sure they will last longer. But people here drive auto cars with a very heavy foot. That is one of the reasons why they don't get econimical milage out of auto cars also. But more than that I have seen people just flooring the pedal for the heck of it; for that extra kick.
The thing is this. Cvt tranny will wear out quicker than a conventional auto tranny bcz its pulleys get worked a lot more than the compenents of a conventional transmission; auto and manual. Bcz of the infinite ratios at work the pulleys are continuously going up and down and the chain wears out quickly too. That is why you will see the abrupt revving on rpm meters in cars with cvt. The computer on a cvt transmission is continuously looking to balance engine power and fuel efficiency based on driver's behaviour. Unless these things are driven on a cruising speed (steady speed) the tranny compenents are working continuously at variable speeds. And we all know that cruising speeds are just not possible on our roads. Even where one does find a comfortable distance the car drivers in pakistan just dont know how to enjoy a smooth drive. Give em a mile of free space and they will just try to make rocket out of the poor vehicle. Abrupt flooring of accelerator and sudden breaking will destroy cvts. you'll see.

I think this image shows that Altis does has a CVT / Tiptronic transmission, it also proves that in this particular model there is no climate control. Maybe this is not the top of the line variant like in case of minor differences in Altis Cruisetronic and Cruisetronic SR

I'm for sure the new XLi will be still retaining those roll-over windows, no airbags, no abs. And probably some cheap CD player with AUX/USB input. And door handles will also be typical plastic black.

If the new ALTIS is not coming with immobilizer, traction control, stability control. Then expect the same with the XLi/GLi.

GLi will just be coming with ABS.

Here's another pic of the new rolla, this one is a different model. More likely, GLi. or maybe basic ALTIS.

New Corolla launch by Toyota Indus Motors -1392732

As you can see it has different instrument cluster, comes with steering wheel mounted controls and Airbags. No SAT/NAV but it appears that it'll be coming with OEM sound system, instead of ALPINE or Pioneer audio. It is also coming with cruise control.

well I have not seen such cases of cvt get worn out quickly for being very delicate only seen one time on friends vitz wen his driver used the wrong oil not cvt gear oil....also m driving new 2013 Audi A4 multitronic 8 speed cvt which is using the same engine 1.8 TFSI from pre-facelift but the gearbox was changed from simple 6 speed auto.....also they have increase the power from 160hp to 170hp n torque from 250nm to 320nm.....do u think this cvt gearbox will breakdown easily after getting bump in power/torque?
My lugnuts require more torque than your Vtec can put out...
