    Default Altis Cruistronic Transmission jerk

Aoa. I recently bought 2008 altis cruistronic. As my normal practice i changed all the oils and filters including the ATF i.e WS type.During ATF change the used oil was burnt and smelly so the filter was cleaned and new oil poured. Now the moment I got out of the workshop the car jerks while shifting from 1st to 2nd. Shifting in rest of the gears is fine and also the same jerk is felt while driving in manual from 1 to 2 gear. The toyota guys didnt get it. Electronics are fine and battery reset was done. I just simply cant seem to find a solution.
Ps. The car is being driven on petrol.all fuel lines and throttle body cleaned.filters changed.fuel filter cleaned.
Xulfiqar bhai esp. Ur comment wud b deeply appreciated.

Bro first check your cars gear oil when engine is running as it can be because of less gear oil

apart from that the jerks can be because of faulty shifter but thatbis something very rare what are toyota saying about it

    @AZEEMMAJEED
Yea did check the level bro.its fine. Btw the toyota guys chexked it too in reverse gears while engine was running as they said this is the proper way ro check. For the rest of the issue their response is not even worth mentioning a bunch of rip offs.

Sorry to be bearer of bad news bro but looks like the solenoid valve in the transmission have gone kaput.I had faced a same issue here in Karachi and trust me couldn't find any reliable mechanic.
For your info there are one less solenoid valves than the maximum gears in an automatic transmission meaning your car is a 4 speed automatic model which has 3 solenoid valves.
The problem is that the solenoid valves aren't making pressure to forward the gear.what you need is to take them to a reliable mechanic so that he checks them out individually. This specific model is prone to get this issue.the mechanic will disassemble the transmission from underneath and then check the solenoid valves individually.
If you plan to take it to a Toyota Service center ask them to make arrangement so that you could meet their DMT-Diagnostic master technician. If they don't have one ,simply walk away.

    Conseqences:-
If you dont try to fix this issue, sooner or later the car will go into limp mode which is ,the car will remain stuck in 3rd gear and not shift gears which is basically a signal for you to take your car to the nearest mechanic.
As far as where to get it done from you yourself should do some market scouting and take it to the best transmission specialist in your area. This specific model is a peach to drive and the sequential gearbox is just awesome but as they say " Pakistani Company aur choona na lagain " that is too good to be true.
I usually dont comment and am a silent observer but considering you are being faced with the same ordeal that I faced , I though better to help a bro in need than keep mum.

    Hi,

Before you get the trans repaired, try ECU reset.

Just disconnect the battery at night and reconnect in the morning 10~12hrs.

I believe your car takes TiV - (mobil 3309) fluid which is a bit thicker and has a friction modifier to take up for the partial lockup that this transmission's torque convertor can do.

I have heard of many people complaining of this issue after a change, There are 2 shifting solenoids which take care of shifting through the 4 ratios, one for the torque converter lockup control and one force motor (aka pressure solenoid to control the shift aggression and line pressure depending on the engine load and rpm.

For kicks (free of charge) do a reset as recommended, make sure the ATF is at right level (check it when HOT only) adjust as required and check again for the problem.

If it does not help then take it back to the dealer and smack them on the head. (you took the car in for a lube exchange of the transmission and the car was behaving correctly as toyota says - after the service procedure the car started to behave incorrectly - according to toyota manual - its their headache to resolve, make sure they dont try to arm wrestle you out of it)

btw the ATF is checked in Park or Neutral ONLY.

the WS is backward compatible - so it wont actually harm the transmission, you are good to go there, for the shift hardness/lurch - toyota have the capability to see what the ECU is sending as signal to the transmission and also test the transmission from the wiring connector. Take it back and ask them to rectify this fault - because the car came in perfect working and went bad after the service procedure. They should take care of it.

According to the toyota DMT diagnosis the pressure solenoid turns off for a split sec while shifting from 1~2 . That might be the culprit. He wants to open the trnan check and do a complete service of it and see what happens.

the pressure control solenoid should releive a bit simulatenously with throttle angle going low along with fuel trim to reduce shift shock. In the old elec. shift trans with pressure cable the cable modulated the B2 band pressure.

sounds more like a sticky accumulator.

All in all it should be on their ticket.

Well it was a human error after all. Thanks to Allah the tran did give up. The issue was in the valve body all along and not in the tran main assembly, which got serviced fortunately. The guy physically didnt put back the 3 check balls in the valve body and also didnt put the key properly 35224a diagram(pic). U can clearly see the marks on it. The car is fine now BUT i am not fully satisfied as yet as on of the key on the valve was put in but without the item in the diagram 35224b on the (right).
I am driving the car now which is fine but i am going to get all the things right in it. Apparently my samsung came in handy again when the toyota guys didnt have updated manuals for assembly.
Thanks all for the help and support.learned alot from u guys. God bless
    PS
Ill b coming back when i get my hands on the kit . Where to get it ? I dont know.tran model u341e. 4speed auto triptronic.

that seems like an overlap valve part. Why was the valve body removed in the first service?
