    Default Altis Cruistronic Transmission jerk

    Aoa. I recently bought 2008 altis cruistronic. As my normal practice i changed all the oils and filters including the ATF i.e WS type.During ATF change the used oil was burnt and smelly so the filter was cleaned and new oil poured. Now the moment I got out of the workshop the car jerks while shifting from 1st to 2nd. Shifting in rest of the gears is fine and also the same jerk is felt while driving in manual from 1 to 2 gear.The toyota guys didnt get it. Electronics are fine and battery reset was done. I just simply cant seem to find a solution.
    Ps. The car is being driven on petrol.all fuel lines and throttle body cleaned.filters changed.fuel filter cleaned.
    Xulfiqar bhai esp. Ur comment wud b deeply appreciated.

    these newer toyota (aisin warner) boxes dont actually employ transmission filters, they are simple screens. You just have to drain and refill the box at required maintenance which is north of 60,000 kms. Modern ATF can take serious beatings.

    @Xulfiqar
    Eid Mubarak
    Yes i know. I sent by driver over for the service and the mech did the blunder. Though thr car is fine now but there are a few pieces still missing which i would like to locate and get it in. I would require ur guidence in doing so sir.
    Ill be posting on the progress after eid InshAllah. I dont know the names of the parts but the part which the key in the pic holds is missing.it looks like a piston and i guess a spring beneath it too is gone.

    Ill get back to u in detail later. The main issue was with the chexk balls. With those back in place all is good. And the servicing of the tran made it new again.iy feels gliding now

    Here in the US I use Altis Cruistronic Transmission jerk -1242156

    You can also find similar products in Pakistan. It really helps in keeping check balls and springs in place when assembling a transmission.

    @Xulfiqar
    I sold my beloved xli to get an auto tran vehicle. Was originally planning to get a brand new auto gli but those were way to exp. I always go for brand new car but since the new corolla is due in a year so i thought lets go for a used one for the time being and the ignorance of a mistri made me regret big time. Now tht the car is fine am good too. Now the next phase is to get it lowered and have new wheels installed.
    As all my cars are dropped on their suspension i wud really like to know how can one achieve a lower ride without losing the comfort. I know its not possible to have the exact comfort as a stock but still a little wud b nice as i dont lower it too much just by an inch or one nd a half as u can c the my xli in the pic.
    We have adjustable shocks and stuff now here in kabari bazar and all kinds of coil springs. I already have a set of lowered springs original ones which i have been using for my last three corollas now.

    yes - safai nisf eeemaan hai, I always believe in that hence when I take something apart I literally clean everything out - BUT make sure of a few parameters when reassembling it back.

    1 - no sutta, gutka naswaar stupefying the brain
    2 - a BLOWN UP diagram of a part as complex as a valve body, the new electricky transmission have simple valve bodies the old hydraulics were insane.
    3 - no distractions while working
    4 - all parts laid out and assembled properly using proper instruments and aids (like the goo I pictured above) - the goo is 100% soluble in ATF, grease is not and grease kills the clutches too.

    Guys sorry for digging up an old post i have tried contacting the thread starter but haven't received a response yet. I am facing the same issue and like the writer of this thread no clear guidance from toyota or any other mechanics. Replacement of the atf fluid is suggested which was changed 20k km ago. I have a 2010 altis. The jerk is being produced when shifting from 3 to 4. More often then not..

    Like the OP, you need to do the following in that order

    a. Clear up the codes, pray that the kick goes away.
    b. find a very good mechanic and have your valve body checked; either the solenoid is bust or most probably the spring and release mechanism is bust.

    Those springs do get tired after a while and need be changed for smoother shift.

    Now, lastly I need to tell you, that once the oil is changed, NEVER EVER discard the old gear oil.

    The oil must be sieved through very fine cloth and checked for residue.
    This gives you a fine marker on the internal health of the gears.

    Lastly, NEVER EVER use any oil other than manufacturer recommended ones. ( it's there for a reason )
    Should you use one, it renders the warranty void.

    Best of luck.

    Salman bro thanks for your reply prior to this post the engine tuning and also a i.t check up has been done. I recently installed a new battery and did used occasionally disconnect the battery and reconnect to clear the ecu that did help the jerks die of for a while but now they have relapsed toyota rawal has done the entire check up and they can't find the fault. It happens occasionally lol when i take the car to rawal and they road test it. It refuses to jerk prominently lol.
    Bro regarding the mechanic this is the main issue I'm facing i cannot find a relaible guy at all. Everyone are rip offs. So if you could refer one I'd be grateful.
    I'm getting the oil changed in a bit as well shifting to liqui moly been using 20w50 petromin oil. Gonna try 10w40 i guess that was the one. I selected.

    when checking ATF level make sure the car is level - meaning it should not be parked on an incline or ramp. Whilst checking level on dipstick it maybe necessary to check it about 5 or 6 times to see the wet spot correctly on dipstick (atf creeps up the tube and messes up the reading)

    If the car is not driven at all and you are checking dead cold then its normal for it to be a few mm below the lower cool marker, the hot level is only achieved after you have driven the car atleast 30 minutes on the highway - the transmission sump should be hot to touch.

    incorrect ATF level can cause all sorts of stupidities, Make sure its perfectly filled - thats your starting point. This transmission is adaptive and takes a while to smoothen out the shifts after ECU reset - wait for a week or so.

    Zulfiqar bhai went to toyota capital today i.10 showed sajjad raheem the jerk although at the time it wasn't as vivid as it usually is. He suggested that let it run the way it is now cause the solenoid valve is producing some pressure, the error on the i.t tester will only show if it goes completely bust. He then suggested that i leave the car with him for a day at the workshop so can open and see and examine what is causing the jerk. Will disconnect the battery at night see if that works, but if i disconnect it and the ecu erases the error memory as well so if i give it to toyota and they check it, the error won't come up.
