Default Corolla se saloon automatic transmission problem

From last few days I am experiencing problem of reverse in my corolla se saloon automatic transmission. The reverse gear sometime don't work at all. If I switch off the car and start it again it starts to work satisfactory. If the reverse is not working their is some Anamolly in forward shifting too e.g the pick is not good and gear goes one down un necessarily. I have changed the transmission oil and cleaned its filter too, after this problem.
The car is cng/petrol. This problem is not permanent, some it is and some time absolutely normal.
Can any body share his expertise.

one time switch off engine and switch on again, mean electrical problem not a mechanical or transmission oil problem, check the transmission relay.

ATF is checked on a hot engine with lever in Park and engine running, if you check it with engine stopped the level will be high as half the torque converter drains back into the pan.

Im pretty sure toyota is not chrysler or nissan which use a fuse and relay for the trans. In a toyota all wiring comes straight from the ECU.
