Default 4EFE Cold Start Idling Problem

For about a month now, my corolla is not reving high on cold morning starts (to warm up) like it used to. When I would start it on a cold morning, it would rev at around 1800 for about a minute then gradually drop down as the temp guage would crawl up. But that's not hapenning anymore. When I start it now, start shaking like a carby cold start and I have to manually rev it. If I try to drive it without warming it up, it becomes really sluggish and does not move.

    It's 4EFE which has EFI...Any ideas?

    Thanks.

I think you need to check your IACV

Thanks for your help Afnan.. I'm also thinking it is t he IACV. As a test, i unplugged it while running the car and it made no difference to the RPM guage at all. Does this confirm that IACV is fried or something?

    THanks,

    THanks,

This is not the IACV Its a regular vacuum switchign solenoid valve.

The IACV on your engine is under the throttle body and has a 3 wire plug - the whole unit is a pistachio coloured item. Its completely controlled by the ECU. Check that its not unplugged

Well if you unplug the IACV and no effect on RPM for sure it is culrpit and you should have CEL too when you unplug

This is actual IACV marked in red circle. Green is TPS make sure you have TPS in correct specs too

Thanks guys but I'm a little confused now. Is it not the IACV what this guy just opened up and cleaned? It does appear to be pistachio green in color. The one on my 4efe LOOKS exactly the same , not sure about the color.

Also when I google 4EFE ICV it brings the same result as what the guy in the attached link is playing with.

    ...?

    Thanks.

before meddling with anything - do tell what sort of engine is this? I hope its the solid big manifold one. This engine also has a cold start valve under the throttle body which is actuated by coolant. When its cold is opens itself to allow more air (high idle)

    as salam o alaikum,
My corolla 16 Volve engine, EFI, have First start problm.

Everyday, when i start for first time in morning (or any time) the engine turns Off when auto switching to CNG from PETROL; (No matter how much accelerator or trottle i give, it must tuns off and i have to start it again).

After this, switching works better for the whole day, and next day, in cold start again it goes OFF during first switch from Petrol to CNG.

    Any suggestions plz
