Correct me if I am wrong guys but if the fuel is rich or lean for any reason, wouldnt the MIL ( engine management light ) will be turned on by ECU on cluster? Given that if the ECU is working properly and engine management light is not blown!

Its very important you check vacuum leak first before fixing the engine or the valve seals. any leak will make ECU assuming worst case scenario and ECU will pump fuel more than its required normally!

    Sir,

Rather than wasting time and money on silly mechanics and on petrol (7km/lit) what is the problem with you taking your car to the authorized Toyota 3S dealership in your city? Tell them your concerns and they will bring your car back to its design factory specs. No point in wasting money on changing injectors etc. etc. hoping that a "tuka" will work. Today's cars are a bit complex. Regular mechanics armed with a "paichkass and plaas" are not geared up to do a proper job.

After owning over 15 cars over 30 years, I have learnt that there is no substitute for the dealer's workshop from routine service to major jobs. The thing is that your 3S dealer's handles 1000's of cars just like yours on a daily basis plus the shop supervisor has been trained by the Japanese. No mechanic sitting under the tree can compare; no mater how "good" he may be. Your 3S dealer will do a proper diagnostic check, zero in on the problem and fix exactly what needs to be fixed rather than .....

    Just my 2 cents worth.

Not really, I make it a point to hang around my car when it is worked upon in the 3S workshop. If things get suspicious, I begin asking questions and get an understanding of what’s going on. If it is not right, I stop all work until we come to an agreement and work proceeds as per agreement.

You're a very knowledgeable person, problems arise when the owner doesn't know anything about the SOPs for a certain job and rely on the mechanics at 3s or wherever, 95% of the time they end up being ripped off

Osama Sb. that may be true, but the 3S workshops offer a warrantee on the work done by them. If the problem persists, the customer can always go to the shop manager and take up the concerns with him. My experience is that if the 3S workshop is a franchise there may be issues as identified by you but if the place is a genuine 3S place then there shouldn't be a problem.

I have never seen any warranty being offered even for a minute for any work carried out on a car in a proper 3S toyota showroom in Karachi. The worst part was seeing your car being worked on with cheap tools and poor approach.

e.g. Instead of using a engine lift support to steady the engine while the gearbox is pulled from a corolla for clutch service - they were using old timing belts and ropes.

your milage problem cannot be solved unless the AFR is analyzed that what ratio's are been running .. cant say anything without the AFR analysis.

Honda is a bit different. I have gone back and had rework done at no extra cost. Never owned a Toyota and probably never will. Anyway getting back on topic, this car is guzzling a huge amount of petrol so obviously it is running too rich. Probably needs to be connected to a diagnostic computer. The owner, @faizy222 is throwing parts at the car hoping that something may work out. The only place that can go about sorting this issue is the 3S workshop. My intention of suggesting to go to the 3S place is that yes it will cost him money to get it looked at; he is throwing money anyway on changing injectors, playing around with the O2 sensor, cleaning the MAF meter etc. may as well spend it at the 3S. I can bet that for the car to get to this condition where it is consuming a litre of pertol every 7 km it must have had some "Ustaad Rehamtullah" do his magic some time in the past.

    Just my 2c worth

Yes there is some warranty given but that is never claimable and intentionally or unintentionally according to 3s you have violated it hence equals to no warranty.
