Default Transmission Oil Change Interval for Toyota Altis Auto

    Hi,

    I recently purchased a 2010 Corolla Altis 1.8 Automatic
Car is 84k driven and I don't know the status of its transmission oil change.

How often should I changed transmission oil and what oil is recommended.

    Thank you.

If the transmission oil is not changed then go for it and change the original Toyota Transmission oil.

ATF WS is thinner and only for 2007 onwards Toyota models.

Technically Altis is using a 1999 transmission same which came with Vitz, X corolla and 2002 Se Saloon with slightly different programming for shift patterns.

ws will provide better fuel economy as it creates a bit less drag but in Pakistan "mota haail" is what rules.

For supply of T-IV - contact mobil lubricants in Pakistan and ask for the 3309 product.

yes you can but its a waste of money for that one, in the old transmissions you need a dexron fluid.

For Altis Cruisetronic 1.8 2010 Model, Toyota Dealership told me to use WS ATF. On the dipstick as well, WS is suggested.

However, having asked Hamza Younus Autos (Toyota Authorized Dealer in Saddar RWP), they told me that WS is for 'Cruisetronic' 2011 onwards model while for the 4 speed auto, ATF Type IV is recommended.

What do you guys say? Any Altis 1.8 user's experience?

The dipstick is a better guide than an auto parts store.
