Default Expensive maintenance of toyota gli

After certain milage, we all have to do maintenance of our vehicles - but it proves to be too expensive from OEMs, Any suggestions in this respect ??? What to do - that the work is done and - the cost incurred is low..... Thanks PW.

If your vehicle is new / fresh, stick on maintanance schedule and for any waranty claim do every job with authorized dealer.
In future you will feel less expensive.

bad things can happen at any place at any time. In order to manage warranty status of local new vehicles I'd recommend sticking to 3S shops. afterwards use a workshop having enough tools and skilled manpower while doing spare parts shopping yourself for the Genuine or OEM new parts.

Thanks brothers for your kind time in responding. Infact ALHAMDOLILLAH my gli is new. It has run around 26000 kms. And the due maintenance includes changing of plugs as well - total comes to around Rs. 35000/-. This is infact too high. BTW if it is necessary to change the plugs?? If i not do this at this stage, what effects can it have on performance?? Thanks.

    What!
My father also drives a 1.3 gli. It has always been maintained from Toyota eastern motors where we buy our toyota's from.
Even though they charge alot to sell their other products too like toyota injector cleaner for 2110, my bill never goes above 10k.
Spark plugs shouldnt cost more than 1.5k max!
Air filter is changed yearly with a genuine denso product and maintainance intervals are 5k everytime.

As far as i know, Denso iridium spark plugs aren't OEM recommended for 2NZ-FE.
If they were, no need to change them before 100k kms

35,000 is damn expensive. What is included in 20,000kms service? They are definitely looting. I owned a 2009 Corolla driven it upto 45,000kms and now own another 2012 corolla which has already crossed 100,000kms. I routinely change my cars plugs at 40,000kms. This is the third set of plugs which is currently installed in my car and will be replaced at 120,000kms. My car is driven on petrol. old spark plugs when removed are always in a serviceable condition.

Any idea for the inspection charges of Rs. 1500/- and Throttle service for Rs. 600/-? Are these necessary ??

Ask him to show where in the owners' manual "Throttle service" is mentioned or required? If your car has been exclusively run on petrol or giving no trouble in engine idling or starting etc. then this so called "Throttle service" is absolutely a big "No." I've many stories from friends where a car which was running perfectly ok started giving trouble after a Toyota 3S "Throttle service."

What are "inspection" charges? Are these for just visually checking brake oil, battery electrolyte, engine coolant levels or drive belt condition etc. then probably you yourself can do it better than "chhotey ustaads" at 3S.
