When you will use above mentioned tires in your new corolla u run your car with my original tire size car at same speed. Like at 80km/hr. After 20sec my car will begin to lead.
I have done this experiment on my 2001 Civic exi 10yrs ago.

Do you really think Pakistani market had those branded rims and tyres 10 years back or technology was the same 10 years back? Today we have online deals, awareness about brand and quality. And the quality stuff will never let you down. Use soft tyres and lightweight branded rims. Not some chinesse scrap.

17's would brush against the wheel well walls on turns and destroy the tyres and could also lead to an accident.

Dear I cannot say any thing. I have seen fact. You search on internet regarding how to choose tire and rim size.
You can ask motor way speed check that how much they get your speed. They will definatly tell 15km/hr less than ur car meter. If u r going on 100km/hr then on speed gun it will 85km/hr.
This is a technical point. You have to study tires and rim literature.

No no if tire profile is like 50 or 55 then it will not rub.

Actually corolla's speedometer shows about kmh speed less then the actual speed. Which I've done comparing cluster speed with Garmin and other instruments showing up the speed. Secondly even if it affect then why not have that idea in your mind that while you're at 80kmh according to your cluster you are actually at 90kmh. I've been after wheels and tyres stuff like anything. I've put on from 15s to 17s in corolla. Used Falken to Yokos to Dunlops. So I know it. Just add 205/55/16 on your 1300cc corolla if you want comfort and looks n make your life easy.

The gap is on top of the wheels not on the sides of the wheels. Agreed that the suspension is high but the wheel wells are not that wide. 17's measure approximately 19 inches if measured from left inner edge to right outer edge ( diagonal cross section). Furthermore I am talking about the tyres rubbing the inner side walls on turns, not the inner top walls of wheel wells.

Shaeery if profile is reduced and size of rim is increased then it will hurt the suspension.

The only reason I see pakistani companies adding 15s to their cars is to cut off their cost and charge normal price to maximise their price while giving their consumer the lesser product as pakistani euro stars are available at maximum of 15 inch size and to encourage this they spread the word naa sir baray tyre naa daliyega. Company nai kuch soch ke hi chotay tyre dale hongy. But fact is ke jo company apnay faiday ke liyay immobiliser nahin degi aur gari ko basic features sey bhi strip off kardegi woh kiun khayal karegi consumers ka by putting smaller wheels? Its all misconception.

Does Toyota offer immobilizer in Corollas in other countries?

Upsize the rim, but follow the specs offered in other countries not to mess up the suspension
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

I see knowledgeable members discussing a lot about replacing the tires, I've just one question -What if I don't change the tires and continue with stock tires... what disadvantages would I have if I continue with EuroStar...

I think global knowledge/experience can't be applied on PKDM XLI/GLI because we are the only country in this world having 1.3L engine.

Reason why Indus opted for old design 15" rim is that now all around globe toyota is offering 16" and Indus is bound to put euro stars and those are not available in 16"
