Don't worry the missing features will come one by one over the next few years with price increases of course

Some stuff i found on internet about the IMMOBILISER.

I was about to go to the Toyota Dealership to get Altis Grande AT but with no immobiliser, id skip it.
Absolute SHAME. Already lost a corolla last year and i am not ready to loose another 2 million of hard earned money by buying toyota corolla regardless even if they give LANA DEL RAY with it. We need IMMOBILISER.

Immobilisers have been mandatory in all new cars sold in Germany since 1 January 1998, in the United Kingdom since 1 October 1998, in Finland since 1998, in Australia since 2001 and in Canada since 2007. Early models used a static code in the ignition key (or key fob) which was recognised by an RFID loop around the lock barrel and checked against the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU) for a match. If the code is unrecognised, the ECU will not allow fuel to flow and ignition to take place. Later models use rolling codesor advanced cryptography to defeat copying of the code from the key or ECU.
The microcircuit inside the key is activated by a small electromagnetic field which induces current to flow inside the key body, which in turn broadcasts a unique binary code which is read by the automobile's ECU. When the ECU determines that the coded key is both current and valid, the ECU activates the fuel-injection sequence.
In some vehicles, attempts to use an unauthorized or "non-sequenced" key cause the vehicle to activate a timed no-start condition and in some highly advanced systems, even use satellite or mobile phone communication to alert a security firm that an unauthorized attempt was made to code a key.
Coincidentally, this information is often recorded in modern automobile ECUs, which may record many other variables including speed, temperature, driver weight, geographic location, throttle position and yaw angle. This information can be used during insurance investigations, warranty claims or technical troubleshooting.

Bro, TBH I am not a corolla fan but you gotta admit that top of the line altis grande is still 74k cheaper than oriel prosmatec, grande comes standard with leatherite interior plus the multimedia dvd navigation while honda is charging another 120k for these goodies. I have been thinking of buying a civic but whenever i see it on the roads, its exterior does not look impressive to me at all. I agree that the interior is impressive with all that imdi display and the cluster but still I havent been able to convince myself to buy one since the last 6 months.

Corolla lacks immobilizer, yes but again I would not want to keep a car worth 2.5 million without insurance even if it has got an immobilizer. Cvti is better than prosmatec. IMHO this time Altis is a value for money and I would prefer it over civic but offcourse with a full comprehesive insurance cover.

This 75k advance tax you pay at the time of booking is adjustable when you file your return.

No it's not included. It is not an additional tax, it's just an advance tax which you can adjust when you file your tax return.

Exactly, refunding is a cumbersome process, better ask your employer not to deduct tax from your salary.

Why doesn't this Corolla have mud flaps on it? Part of the reason it looks so unsightly with those small rims and big profile tires is because there are no mud flaps to hide how tall it actually is.

On the other hand, slap some 16 inchers with 205/55 profile tires on it and dang, we've got a looker.

There's a slight difference between tax payer and filer - filer is one who files annual tax returns. Not all tax payers are filers.

Umair the refund you got in your next salary was not from FBR. your employer simply deducts less tax in the next salaries so that by the end of fiscal year your tax liability is exactly what it should be.

Getting a refund directly from FBR is impossible. They never refund. Cases of last 10 years are still pending.

And as Veyron pointed out "Not all tax payers are filers".

Lana Del Ray? Shes flat! The Altis has got curves (huge curves). Why would Toyota give Del Ray with any automobile :-D

The tax refund has to be adjusted by employers. They are authorized by FBR to adjust WHT/advance tax against the tax calculated on salary. This adjustment can be carried out for all taxes paid by the employee during July 01 to June 30 (One Fiscal Year). The adjustment has to be made before June 30 each year though. If for example your annual tax on salary is 240k and monthly tax on salary is 20 k. Now if you buy an Altis and pay 75,000 as advance tax on booking and some WHT on registration (which includes token WHT tax) lets say you paid 90k total tax on the new car. Now in order to get all of it back you will have to inform your employer latest by February, so that in the next five months the employer deducts only 10k as tax against your salary (20k X 5 months = 100 k tax minus the 90k you already paid). Hope this clears everything.

What happens if u paid 100k advance WH tax and your annual income tax deduction is say 84k (7000/month)? Can the remaining 16k be adjusted in next year's tax payments? If not, what are the options to get it back other than filing return with FBR cuz i know you are never going to get it back this way. It will already be somewhere in the FBR officers personal bank accounts. Seriously, one thinka what is this country we are living in, tax bhi do zaleel bhi ho.
