Mohtaram @StrikerX Sahib,
For the past one year this very parliament has not passed a single bill let alone the one you are talking about addressing seat-belts. Dil khoon k ansoo rota hay apnay watan ka haal daikh kar. But I'm very hopeful, change will come soon and we will progress, God willing!
A guy was telling me that when he imported a Toyota Corolla from Japan in 1982, someone suggested him not to go for the one with seat-belts as the Pakistan Customs would impose a higher amount of duty on any car with that feature (seat-belts). What would you call it? Nonsense with no ends.
Here is what the government should do:
Make the installation of an immobiliser with higher encryption mandatory on all cars.
Make the installation of seat belts for all passengers mandatory on all cars.
Make the installation of maximum number of air-bags mandatory in all cars. In 2014 we'll have a whopping 10 or more airbags in cars in the developed world.
Make the installation of safety features like ABS (anti-lock braking system), stability system and traction control mandatory on all cars.
The above safety features should be allowed to be imported duty-free for they are meant to save lives.
I understand that most of my honourable members of this forum would call me crazy for we are a poor country spending little on things like education and health, something we badly need to do. But our leaders are least concerned about the problems of a common man.
Regards.
