Bro its not just abt speed... its about comfort, new technology and additional features and why not
enjoy the best if someone can afford it... Lets not forget that both 1.3 and 1.6 are old engines that were in 10th gen Corolla too... whereas Grande has a new advanced Cvti engine that is powerful and fuel efficient as well... Few posts above a Gli owner said that he is getting 10 km/l whereas i m getting around 12 on my Grande... so which is better? a powerful engine with more fuel economy or a relatively underpowered engine with less fuel economy???
Dont wanna sound rude but if someone is so afraid of traffic conditions then he shud not buy Corolla at all...shud go for a JDM 660 cc

    Exactly!
Fuel average of grande cvti has surprised all.
We went to lahore from bahawalpur about a week back on two cars grande cvti and axio.
And to my surprise axio consumed more fuel than grande.

2007+ wala.. 2011+ Premio had a newer engine 2ZR-FAE with valvematic technology, which is 12% more efficient and produces 142 bhp.

Nop. 2011+ one comes in both variants, dual vvti and valvematic. Some XEX premios came with valvematic engines, mostly they came with dual vvti 2ZR-FE.

2007 model etc engine was old and wasn't dual vvti. Don't know the engine code, will check in a family vehicle.

My brother took the car from islamabad to lahore via M2 and kept it over 140-150 kph all the way with occasional hits to 200kph or so. Exact calculated average came out to be 13.56 kpl for 556 kms trip.
    Pretty nice I would say.

Brother @driveking, can you share your repayment plan given by bank here? I contacted Dubai Islamic Bank and they quoted me a profit rate of 15.4% (6-month KIBOR) with 3.5% insurance rate and 1,300 per month tracker charges.

Went to Toyota Defence - the sales guy was least bothered and looked sleepy, and just say "no altis 1.6 to show u the interior" (it's closer to home so went there). This is the breakdown he gave me:

    price 1,952,500
    non filer 100,000
    registration 60,000
    insurance 87,000

    total 2,199,500

500,000 pay order at the time of booking

Apparently have to use an insurance company provided by them - that's weird @ 2.99% comprehensive.

They said they cannot provide a date, but later when I called Toyota central the salesgirl said the same but then said when u have the pay order the manager can tell u the date of delivery, so u can write the cheque for registration and insurance IN ADVANCE.

Can you guys that have bought the corolla recently comment.
If any of the members here know a good salesperson in either Toyota defense Karachi or Toyota central let me know.

    Thanks.

I am getting mine through Meezan bank on a 4 year plan. Corolla xli with 50% advance which would be 817000+4000 service charges. Thats it. Monthly installment is 28600. Bank would take care of insurance and tracker and all other taxes including registration too.

You should have been opted for GLI if you have gone with bank leasing. The difference is just 1,900/- in monthly installment.
