Due to unrest in Karachi today after Rangers raid this morning IMC attendance is affected. So expect some delays in deliveries.

Today Askari rep who insured my Mehran said that he will offer same rate for my Altis around 2.7 % and tracker is not compulsory

Atlas rep in Pindi told me on phone 2.51 percent net and no need for tracker.

May be tracker is compulsory for Gli and not Altis and Gli has higher rate of premium than Altis

Can be possible but doesn't make sense as both are Corolla and equally prone to theft. In fact Altis is better for hilly areas due to its bigger engine. Ask them for a written quotation.

trust me tracker is USELESS tracker companies are more pain for actual user then the thief, for owners it is more psychological then the actual deterrent / protection against car jacking.

Also, in the email which I have quoted above, he says "Please note tracker device is mandatory for Toyota Corolla"
    He didn't mention the variant.

Insurance companies base their premiums and terms and conditions on the basis of data they buy from research firms and in that data Xli-Gli variants tops the list of thefts. Since Altis have always been selling a fraction of Xli-Gli its data does not ring alarm bells.

Car lifters go after Xli-Gli they don't know what is the difference as most of them are illiterate and probably have never seen a school and that is why they take away Altis also thinking they are stealing Corolla.

I will get written quotations like the one posted above tomorrow from TPL, Askari and Atlas.

Both TPL and Toyota were insisting that 3S do not have credit facility with any company other than TPL and up to 20,000 claim TPL does not require surveyor at Toyota workshops across Pakistan.

Call their Pindi office and ask for Mr Mahmood and get quote from him also. Also ask from him if tracker is compulsory for Gli and Altis. I asked him thrice about tracker and he said not compulsory. Same with Askari guy he said forget tracker no need for it.

When I was booking my car at Toyota Capital, they also insisted for TPL. Do let us know about their rate.
Also please clarify one thing. If an insurance company gives you some rate, lets say 3%, then is this rate inclusive of every tax or we have to pay 17% sales tax after that?

I called him also and he said the same. Said to just send over the invoice once I get it. At first he quoted 3.4% then I mentioned 2.5% that autophile had posted last week, and he said ok, because we committed to him we will honor this special rate.

I have the dealer accessories list, and that size is mentioned for Dunlop tires, so why wouldn't Yokohama have it? Look elsewhere, dealerships will keep their own margin. You should go for 205/55/16 in my opinion

go for medium silver, it shows better on the corolla and is a "light n cool" shade - better than gun metallic. super white and medium silver look best in my opinion.
