I dont think so that thieves will bypass this system easily as it doesn't involve ignition system at all and to start the car you need RFID remote ( like the immobilizer that is installed in Civic ).

No the jack knife has nothing to use but only it is for the self satisfaction, if you want to open the doors manually for somehow.

I didn't keep the ignition switch working. May be you can keep that by cutting wires and doing extra wiring but then the purpose of RFID died.

you can manually open the doors too with jack knife but in case if the charging of remote dies ( Remote is rechargeable ,it can be charged from a car charger ) there is an option of another RFID Antenna/censor placed somewhere in a car. you just need to place your dead remote on that censor and your doors will unlock automatically.

Good idea - will ask when I go to pay the remaining balance next week - also need to check under the bonnet of the new cars parked on the lot to check ECU cover, otherwise a member had stated it's Rs. 500.

The cover doesnt comes factory fitted, You would need to purchase it, Or put a theli everytime you get your engine washed.

PS: Never ever get the engine washed. Its no use getting it washed, Just pressurized air is more then enough
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Ok, thanks for letting me know about the ecu cover. I am making a list of items I need to ask/clarify/purchase when I visit the dealership again - month of delivery is May, so plenty of time still.

excitment is good, pesei deike lerae ho so be happy, Just dont let the car stay at the dealership more then 2-3 days, Make sure you get it the very next day it arrives. or a the 3rd day.

Baqi be rational check the car throughly before taking the delivery,
    Check all lights,
    indicators,
    reverse lights etc
    Spare wheel
    Tool Kit, Jack
Ashtray lighter (if aplicable) I guess they stopped offering ashtray/Lighter in Corolla
All body panel alignment, Lights, check for repairs and fittings

I was also about to buy that Ecu cover while shopping goodies for my Gl A/T .. But I remembered some Pak Wheeler saying that it caused over heating or something .. That's why I didn't go for it

Only thing I need to find out is whether the 16" OEM wheels at the dealership (Thailand) and the same design at Zafcom (the guy said they're from Taiwan) are the same - bit confusing. Will be getting a price from dealership on those to compare.
