    Today i went to Toyota Dealer for a First oil change in Altis 1.6. ODO was 4512Km. I went for Taglon Fully Synthetic 5W50 oil. Need to buy 5 ltrs as Altis 1.6 requires 4.2 ltrs. Altis 1.6 Engine also requires Element kit,oil filter. Old oil was totally black in color. I also request them to check all fluid levels and tighten any loose nut. Over all cost was

    1.Taglon 4ltr Oil = 3000/- Rs
    2.Taglon 1ltr Oil = 810/- Rs
    3.Element Kit,oil filter = 1145/-
    4.Labour = 225/- Rs

    Why are you ruining your car's brand new engine using this useless oil. 5w50, Toyota indus has gone nuts

    Well it doesn't harm. But it's such a thick oil. Why put so much load when engine can run comparatively smoother on a thinner oil give better fuel average.

    Just check the owners manual. If it recommends use it. I'm sure it won't. Cause no company recommends such high viscosity for new cars

    You should atleast once try 5w20 in your car, right after using 20w50. You'll definitely feel a difference in engine smoothness and increased average by 10%

    But ofcourse it's your car, and you may have your own reasons for choosing a different viscosity oil, and i totally respect that.

In a worn engine it may be okay to increase the viscosity of the oil because the bearing clearances have become larger" quoting from another forum.
    Plus i was also confused about this oil thing. But after a considerable amount of search and info gathering im now using 5w30/10w30 in my Belta. And I'm satisfied.
    The picture you've posted, the same description is given in beltas manual. And thus i can say, for me 10w30 is ideal. Best on fuel consumption and easier on the engine

    And ofcourse even 20w50 won't harm your engine. But it will definitely raise the oil pressure in your engine. And decrease the consumption. If you're comfortable with an average of 9 from a car capable of 11.it's perfectly fine.
    But just one thing. The letter before W.the cold oil flow must be kept on the thinner side. To allow for oil to lubricate better at cold starts

    Sir 5w20 is very thin at higher temp. And won't be suitable in lahore and karachi hot climates.
    A very thin oil can cause metal-metal friction and hence increase wear of the engine. 10w30 or 10w40 would be safe for any normal road car here

    The range 5w-50 is best suited to our hot summer climate. 30 is too low in my opinion. 40 on the higher side would be just ok.
