I will still choose 10w30 or 5w40 over 15w40/20w50....only our Pakistan corolla manual shows this grade of oil but the rest of the world corolla manual doesn't shows this grade....also my younger brother 2011 altis 1.6 a/t was using 20w50 Toyota petron but when I told him to switch to fully synthetic 5w40 he felt lighter on acceleration n also fuel consumption improved.....so again I ll say plz stay away from 15w40 or 20w50 grade oil for new engines
My lugnuts require more torque than your Vtec can put out...

Plz help me choose a color
I wud recommend Gli manual or 1.6 altis auto.....Gli a/t fuel consumption is not gud as 1.6 altis....there's hardly big difference in price plus u ll get alloy rims and the navigation screen with camera also u can choose super white in 1.6 altis

The Corolla manual is for Pakistan and keeping in view the high temerpatures in the country, they have recommended 20w50 . How about this?

With smaller, more precise spaces between parts, thinner oils do a better job of flowing freely through the engine while still filling the spaces.

Too thick or too thin oils can both be bad for engines, but damage is neither immediate nor catastrophic; it just reduces overall engine life. Consider that using improper oil could reduce engine life by a conservative ten thousand miles. At a value of fifty cents per driven mile, in a one-hundred-car-fleet, that would be a loss of one million miles for a value loss of five million dollars.

    Always use the
oil recommended by the engine manufacturer. Believe it or not, you don?t know more about oils than the people who designed and built the engine.

In short 10w50/20w50 is a big no for new gen rolla.20w50 infact is only good for an old engine and aids in reducing smoke/keeps seals/rings intact if the car is running on a thinner viscosity oil.
Aren't the last two paragraphs contradictory?
All Corollas (1.3, 1.6, 1.8) are coming with 20W-50 oil from IMC.

these new engine doesn't need 20w50 grades even in Pakistan.....in Saudi or UAE temp r higher than Pak but they mostly used 10w40 or 10w30 I think.....I have used 5w50 grades but from Mobil1 on my markx....it was great oil but I switched later to liquid moly 5w40 fully synthetic which is the best overall oil throughout the year....5w50 will be great for the summer btw I don't like any engine oil from Toyota Petron

It's normal with Islamabad ETO. They take so much time, if you need urgently can contact ETO.

I bought car from Toyota Islamabad Motors, can I get oil change or other periodic maintenance from other dealerships? Will it not void the warranty?
