After that i placed ad for sale last month just on pakwheels and olx and got offers close to my cost including registration (declined sale due to oncoming civic and restrictions from my employer for change of vehicle under loan term).

However in term of power it is a bit different story. As a utility it fulfills all purposes, has very smooth automatic gear but for pick it is behind GLi MT. Power is not there at the right time when you floor it. You have to build momentum to overtake at highway. On the other hand it is very comfortable and smooth in city start stop driving.

I have driven new 1.6 Altis extensively, and i feel it is marginally better than 1.3 AT not a very huge difference. At highway, being automatic gear, 1.6 altis also does not gives you instant power when you want overtake a lorry. If IMC would have introduced manual, 1.6 altis would have been a big cheer on anyone's face. Moreover, you also have to consider resale value after 1 or 2 years for 1.6 altis.
Did you try shifting into d3 before overtaking? or did you jerk floor the pedal to make the DASL downshift? works like a gem the super ect does give you limited manual over ride although it's not as versatile as the cvt-i of course.

No i just press the pedal hard to overtake. Honestly, m a bit afraid to operate shift gears while driving, though manual says that you can shift between gears while driving between specified speed range. Will try on my upcoming travel from islamabad to rahimyarkhan after consulting manual

shifting from d to 2 would be a bad idea but d to d3 wont hurt. that's what its there for. the 3rd gear in the super ect is unity, equivalent to the 4th in manual so even at a 100km/h it would be ok to shift into it. but before you try any of that, try the DASL, it will be good enough. when you want the car to suddenly accelerate, just lift your foot for a split second and then floor it with a jerk, you'll hear the engine roar and feel the transmission down shift. That's the edge 'Super' ect offers you over ect, ect-i and prosmatec it also applies within city when overtaking in tight spots.

All Corollas (1.3, 1.6, 1.8) are coming with 20W-50 oil from IMC.

20w50 oil from Indus motor corporation. SHitty mineral oils with 20w50 viscosity rating all for one purpose ->Its cheap.10w40 was the standard for new engines of 90s most of them.20w50 is not meant to be used in new engines in general

For your reference here are the Corolla international manual specs.

I stand by my claim--5w30 is the grade for our rolla 2014.

If you see the chart carefully 0w20 is based for temperatures less than 30degrees that why i suggested 5w30 wich is fully capable of taking the beat of Pakistani summers. If you look at the chart suppplied by your auto manufacturer,
you will see what oils to use for given temp ranges.Mobil states

your vehicle manufacturer recommends a 0W-20 viscosity. A 0W-30 viscosity can also be used. We offer these motor oils to help protect your vehicle.

5w30 as we dont really need 0w oil as we dont experience snowy winters.

In Pakistani summer minimum should be 40 not 30 in the upper range. Buhat garmi hoti ha yaar idhar, aap kay Murree, Abbottabad ma rehtay ho? Those oils could be for European or North American and Canadian winters, not for Asian, esp Pakistan.

What is the feedback on recently launched Dark Brown colour by Toyota Indus? If anyone has bought or seen this colour I would appreciate sharing of his comments.

I had physically inspected this dark brown and RED colors in Lahore Cantt Motors, when they were on trial road shows this past Dec/January. I took pics of them, but don't have them on my phone right now. The red was sharper and shiny and looked good, while the Dark Brown was not very appealing, at least to me.

But they have not launched RED colour, I guess this is based on public response. Of course colour is a personal choice.

Getting my Corolla GLi delivery tomorrow. The thing which troubles me is that i have booked it in Gun Metallic color. But the texts i have been receiving from IMC say my WHITE GLi will be expected to be delivered on 26th June. I contacted the dealership, but they i will get the Gun Metallic color. Im a little confused here. Should i take the dealerships word for this? What if the car im delivered is white?
