After using honda city for 5 years, we decided to switch to toyota since the new generation Toyota appealed regarding its design and interior. On May 29th, Toyota Altis 1.6 was delivered and we were really excited. Exactly 10days after the delivery, the car failed to start. It was quite a disappointment. Anyways the next day at Toyota dealership after a lot of argument they admitted that it was a faulty battery. Now today on June 26th its rubber from front wind shield is coming off. I must say the general perception that if you're a honda owner you should never switch to Toyota is becoming true. Of course they will change it at the dealership but one doesn't buy a new car to visit dealership for one problem after another and to undergo this agony. I'm utterly disappointed and as soon as new generation of Honda civic is announced I would like to shift back to Honda. Name: ImageUploadedByPW Forums1435326110.881108.jpg

Hahahaa, not big issue when they have to make thousands of car in a month, compared to 1,000-1,100 cars per month.

How do you compare the ride and comfort ?
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

Well thats not the single issue, there is a long list of common problems in QC.
    1) Misaligned bumpers
    2) Black spots in white paint
    3) misaligned rear lights
    4) Hard door handles
    5) sanded door handles
    6) rare but weird noise from engine bay on engine startup
    7) hard gear when switched from R to P in auto transmission versions
    8) trunk doesnt open completely up from tention spring when pulled from inside
    9) faulty jack
    10)squeaks from dash
    11)poorly finished chassis paint

These issues are identified by my careless eyes over more than a dozen vehicles bought by my colleges in my company.

Autophile bhai ap bhi blindly toyota ki support krte jaare .. why it is not a big issue .. when they are making thousands a month ..their quality control should be better and stricter .. as more profits pour in ..they should be able to support stricter quality control .. this is very disappointing and shame ful from Toyota Indus

What happens if PBO gets misplaced? Does the dealership provide another copy of the PBO or give delivery without it?
Or in the worst case is booking cancelled? :what:

Yes it is disappointing and shameful for Toyota Indus, but who does not know that such issues are present in new cars assembled by them. So try to live with them.

No they will just see your original CNIC and hand over the car to you. They also kept my PBO on variant change and then lost it.

@autophile, Thanks a lot sir! Your reply gave me a sigh of relief. As I've misplaced the PBO, I've searched few places in agony, few places are still left to search but now I'm immensely relieved.....

Yes atleast should improve their quality. Even a smallest car from japan like 660 cc are far better in quality. No offense but true

That's why I've been saying time and again that cars should be imported from Japan and not be allowed to be assembled in Pakistan. Hamaray pass haraam ka paisa nahin.

    Problems in my grande
    1. Rear bumper and side view mirrors paint was a little rough , was sorted out when I got my car detailed.
    2. Front right speaker was blown , got all four speakers changed from the market ,infinity so got it sorted and now at least the system sounds much better.
    3. Steering was a little left , got it fixed from my alignment guy , now it's perfect.
