We live in a country where life has very little value and money has a lot more value. We are talking about people who won't wear a seat belt ( or "cheat the police" by fake buckling up) even when its free (i.e. included in the price of car)....and you think anyone here would give a damn about some ghubara (airbag)?

In fact, I have been living in KPK for a while now (previous in Punjab and then Islamabad) and know people who consider it a "nuisance". We need to understand this is not the developed world and people and their cars are not insured. The majority of people involved in a small scale accident (bumping into another car and ruining some lights and bumper) would currently get away with 2-8 thousand rupees worth of damage. Imagine having to fix an entire dashboard because of airbags? At such a time, the car owner is perfectly willing to risk his life in a rare severe accident instead of having to pay a huge repair price in the case of a minor accident( after all, we get to put it on Allah's will).

People whining about just 1 airbag should not be surprised if the buyer goes to the mechanic to get even that disabled. I have seen such requests here in case of JDMs. Airbags, as with seat belts, wont sell in Pakistan but will have to be enforced by the govt. That, after some ugly scenes at accident sites, would be proceeded/preceded by mandatory insurance. Same may be the case with ABS. One will only really consider it if it were were some big, visible thing that makes one's car looks more expensive or the person a bigger chaudhry.

Few people, like those on this forum, actually know and care about safety technology. The average buyer doesn't, and that is the selling formula for IMC. For this reason, an outgoing corolla without immobilizer has been able to outperform an incoming model Civic, and City combined by a ratio of 3:2. When the situation was reversed ( an incoming model corolla facelift vs an outgoing model civic), it outperformed by a ratio of approximately 4:1.

This model will be sold (and stolen) like hot cakes. On a more personal note, this model is beautiful (at least the exterior). I wish it had an immobilizer instead of paddle shifters. I know many people here will love those but all I can see are spoiled kids of rich people racing on streets risking the life of others. Neither do we have race tracks for our fun, nor the maturity and civic sense to drive responsibly in public..but that's just me.

The best part was that Grande has it's interior all paded not just the uper portion, even the doors are padded beautifully, where as even simple altis 1.8 had half paded interior. can't say anything about xli and gli and 1.6 altis :/

This car can most certainly look nice only if toyota decides to offer side skirts and also most importantly lower the ride height a bit, i know they have to cater to the masses but still this ground clearance is just ridiculous. The overall shape of the car isn't bad at all i have realized that now it's just the absence of few touches here n there give this car a rather boring look.

Agreed! Apart from the missing airbag and immobilizer the car can be 'completed' by the owner to make it look perfect!

There are "urban" areas where speed breakers should rather be termed as "car breakers" because of their size. Everybody makes a speed breaker at will and to his/her liking. And I am not talking about some random katchi road...but main roads and highways. Those liking in PWD and Bahria town (RWP) would know what I am talking about...that car breaker past Madina Cash and Carry and before Latif chemist...not to mention there are so many of them on that little stretch of road.

There should be a standardized size and design of a speed breaker on all roads.
