Thanks a lot for the prompt reply sir. I would nevertheless appreciate if any other person, who has kept both ECT and CVT cars, can share his first hand experience about both.

I m keeping both 2012 Altis cruise tronic Ect & Grande 15 Cvt, by all means cvt is much better i will like to add 2 more things.
1- In Cvt you don't feel gear change.
    2- Cvt is fuel efficient.

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply sir. My concern towards CVT is durability, as CVT being a newer technology in Pakistan, carries a big question mark about the duration it would serve in the long run. I am saying this because of reading several American automobile forums in which people using CVT cars have themselves complained about the CVT creating problems after the car clocks 25000 Kms mark. Normal auto transmission, on the other hand, is more robust and durable but less smooth and fuel efficient than CVT, in the long run. CVT is also much more expensive to repair than normal auto transmissionCorrect me if I am wrong, please.

no bro i dont think cvt will create problems.
it has been a year since altis 1.8 and grande was launched people have drove it more than 50k kms with no problems
not a single owner complained about cvt on pakwheels.
25k kms is too early for anything in car get faulty
at least cvt transmision will not create trouble till 2.5 lac kms
and dont forget that every other jdm car is eqiuped with cvt transmission.

I hope what you said turns out to be true in Pakistan in the long run. I was a bit concerned when I read on an American forum about people in USA, complaining about CVT creating problems, when in fact the quality standards there, were far superior, than here in Pakistan. I will nevertheless stick with ECT, while waiting to see how CVT is taken in Pakistani market in the long run. Thank you very much for your kind input.

Rightly said so. CVT is the future, while ECT, being tried and tested, would soon be a thing of the past. Thanks a lot for the clarification.

Another propaganda by indus to grab our hard earned money. all security systems including RFID systems work on 2.4GHz. As an industry standard, 'ALL' automotive circuits are immune to 2.4GHz and all cell phone frequencies!

Indus does not manufacture transmissions locally. all transmissions are imported pre assembled from either Japan or Thailand depending on variant. CVT is more prone to wear only if you're in a habit of flooring it at every green light due to the chain assembly. The rest CVT is a simpler mechanical assembly than conventional transmissions and IMHO should pose no significant problem.

This one which I have posted is global and IMC has reprinted here locally with pages relevant to models and features introduced in Pakistan
