    Help needed Guys.

Is it worth to install hood inner liner (Bonnet inner sheet) in Altis 1.6 for sound proofing like the one that is factory installed in Grande? Will it make any difference. Need your reviews about that Guys ??? Please Suggest me.

    Waiting your feedback guys.

Hood liner is there for following purposes:
    1. Sound damping
    2. Helping the engine warm up faster and retain heat (for better starting in cold weather )
    3. Cosmetic appeal
    4. Those hood liners are also designed to suppress engine fire. The fire melts the tabs and the liner drops onto the engine
sent from my HD2 without using the handset itself!!

Like Bilal said its mostly there to keep the thing warm and fire prot. It does provide a bit of passive noise cancellation but you wont notice a whole lot of difference or any difference depending on the material quality.

It is a standard accessory that every car should have simply cuz of the fire protection aspect.

I remember one of the forum members got undercoating on their corolla from Suzuki dealership, some imported can of the treatment. Cost was I believe Rs. 6,000. I went to Suzuki dealer today and they quoted me the same. I want to get it done on my old Lancer, which has bit of rust already on the under-body.

My question is, is there another place in Karachi that can actually sand off the rust BEFORE applying the treatment, jaise bahar hota hai. Most places I checked, just wash and apply the coating. I checked Khan motors on Korangi rd, DHA and they don't do it. Suzuki wala said they can try to remove the rust..

    Thanks

My understanding is that undercoating is effective if you are gonna be driving on ice. As salt is heavily mixed with the ice to melt it but the salt can cause rust issues down the road. I dont know if getting an undercoating will help especially with an old frame like the one you are talking about on your lancer (im guessing at the minimum your lancer is 8-10 years old)

Exactly. Bought it brand new in 2005. But I want to stop the rusting process, as it's not that bad right now. It's got very low mileage, 55,000 kms, but the body paint has faded from the trunk and some light scratches on the body (thinking of getting those parts repainted by Mitsubishi/dewan motors).

Every car is a best car which you can afford in your budget. Enjoy it fullest without comparing it with any other variant. Love your car without looking toward others car and do not justify it to others because you dont need to.

Well you said it all in very few words. You are absolutely right. And I am very very happy because I am getting a 11th gen xli because it serves me well. And whenever I saw a better car then my car I just remember my old days on honda CG 125 and I thank Allah for blessing me with all this. Thanks for your kind words too.

Congrats! I got the similar news as well, the day before yesterday.
Feeling excited too. No words to describe the happiness on getting a brand new car for the first time & that too a sedan!
We were going to book a 10th Gen 2-3 years back but decision changed and now after the launch of 11th Gen I must say that I'm lucky enough to get this shape.
