I have used 20W50 in my previous corolla for years and it was also the same engine (2N-ZFE). It was hardly 40 K when I started pouring Petromin 20w50 and it worked flawlessly even in subzero temps.

There was not a slightest decrease in engine performance and when I sold it after 10 years at 134,000 it still looked, sounded and drove like a new car.

So take my words it will not harm engine in any way.

Muradi may be right, but it's not Toyota guys, it's IMC.
Showroom also had petron 10w30, tin packed at around double cost than this pk made oil.
I was wondering what's the IMC benefit of using that pk made oil; if they say to put that expensive oil of low viscosity to which we had to agree to safeguard warranty.

I have once made a mistake of using 20w-50 in my swift and felt considerable drop in performance.
Not really I just bought the swift , the owner said k abhi 1k parey han till oil change but i will change it anyways ...I will go for 10w40 InshaAllah Will buy shell 10w40 I guess its the blue one

The manual you have posted is not for 2NZ-FE. So 20W50 is safe and I and many other Pakwheelers have tested it for years in their cars. Plus the manual does not bar using 20w50 anywhere.

This is the scan of Toyota Pakistan manual and clearly mentions 20w50. However, it is not compulsory you can opt for 10w30 Patron mineral or 5w50 fully synthetic. As long as it is SN or even SL it is good.

I think indus promote petron plus 10w 30for modern/new engines but choices are there. I used 20w50 in my swift & vitz and never had any problem 🏻

A 5w-30 bottle and a 20w-50 bottle costs round about the same. I fail to find how will people make profit by different oil grades. In fact if they manufacture only one oil they can get more profit by reducing the cost of production and increasing the number of sales.
