yeh , i do agree to certain extent that it could have happened because of unequal wheel balancing. but why didn't pakwheel member who put the review , failed to realise this problem?

    Dear All

I am facing a minor issue in my Altis 1.6. In order to check whether the steering is aligned properly. I took the car to 70-80 KMs/hr speed and then made the steering straight and left it to see if it was going straight or moving towards left or right. In the first instance, the car felt tilting towards left, then I held the steering again, made it straight, and then left it, and this time, the car felt moving towards right. Maybe, I wasn't able to place the steering in perfectly straight position, that's why the car was moving slowly towards left/right?

Nevertheless, I will once again try it this week end, In shaa Allaah, as my car's first free inspection is due in the first week of January 2016. Experts opinions about this issue are welcome, please. Thanks and regards.

Next time before trying it, check the tyre pressures first,. I checked my cars tyre pressure today both the left tyre had one psi less pressure than the right side.
So make sure you have equal pressure in all the tyres.

Thank you for the kind advice sir. I will surely get the tire pressure checked before trying to do so, as I also felt tire pressure to be lower than 30 psi (using stock tires).

True said Dr. Sahab. I will try to do so on another road and observe the results there. Thank you for the useful advice.

When I received my car, during going home I straight away felt that the steering wheel is not aligned.I replaced my car tyres before going home.Next day I checked the air pressures, that was correct 30-30 so I went Islamabad by motorway, that trip confirmed that wheel alignment of my car was fine because car did not tilt to left or right but went straight at road the issue was misaligned steering wheel. That trip clocked my ODO to 1000 kms so I went to first service and dealership mechanic fixed that issue in one minute by losing and then tightening some screws underneath(near front wheels). You should check your tyre pressures, then find a straight road, drive 2/3 KMs and make sure what is need to be fix, steering wheel or wheels alignment.

Thanks a lot Mir bhai for this well elaborated reply. I have taken the car to almost 110 KM/hr but it was solid stable, no wobbling at all, that eliminated the chances of misaligned tyres. The problem seems more of misaligned steering wheel. Nevertheless, I will act upon your valuable advice, observe the results and share my experience soon. Stay blessed.

The steering tilt is a two minutes fix. I too had it. It's bad on part of IMC to send out car with such minor issues. By now they might have hundreds of complaints about trunk and steering alignment, but they seem to leave it to the 3S workshops to fix it. Since they are rolling cars in huge numbers, they are overlooking such minor checks and fixes. Bad on their part.

PS: bad on the part of dealerships also who only fix those car trunks and steering when customers find out and claim. Thousands of people would not notice such things, they think, so let it be.

very disappointing news.. medium silver is much much better than silky silver.. i hope Toyota decide s to keep medium silver too so people can choose themselves and not have Toyota shove their foolish choices down our throats.. it is by far one of the best colors.. much more appealing than silky..

If u r an enthusiast than talk about Grande rest its everyone's own choice and all.
Aliusman also told u that he reaches from point A to B in same time he reaches on his prius so 300cc and roar of engine and all is of no use in this heavy traffic
If engine roar is the issue than go and check the roar of 1.8 cvti grande and u will see a clear difference

Sir, how would one ensure if the trunk is aligned properly or not? Would appreciate elaboration of the process step by step. Regards.

Just check that tail lights on trunk and body are aligned and also the gaps on both sides of the lid

Sir, in case of tail lights' alignment, the left one is perfectly aligned but the right one feels slightly misaligned, may be 0.25-0.5 mm away from the mark. I am not so much concerned about that for the fact that I observed the same issue in right tail light alignment of yours and @nido747's Altis 1.6 as well, so seems like a manufacturing fault. Also, the gaps on both sides of the lid seem to be OK.

What's your take on this issue, sir? Should we Altis 1.6 owners live away with this minor right tail alignment issue?

You are right, my trunk is slightly misaligned from right. Had asked the workshop guys to fix it and he came up with a long story that manufacturing fault bla bla since I had time issues, I left it like that and it is not a big issue or an eyesore to say. Someday when I am in a bad mood, I will get it done after a shouting match
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.
