The steering should be heavy and precise. I really was hoping that at least Grande would be different in terms of handling but all are the same.

You are absolutely right about the steering. Though it is good in slow speeds but it kind of hurls the car all over the place with even minute turning. There is no precision. Upon turning the steering, the car doesn't go exactly where you aim it to go. This is particularly important in rush hour moderate to fast speed traffic, where to avoid cars or to just enjoy the car you point it to go where you want it to go. But, it just doesn't. I hated the Swift's hard steering initially as it wasn't that comfortable as of other cars, but once up to speeds of more than 50 kmph, one really starts to admire the hard steering with direct, precision accuracy. No matter which Corolla variant you buy, the car will feel heavy and huge.

Not sure about you but I feel that the braking system isn't up to the mark. Upon application of brakes the huge mass behind the car kind of pushes against the car and you feel it kind of trying to stop the car from stopping lol I learned driving on a Corolla 2007, and it was light, and acceleration was good. This is the first Corolla variant that I am not liking. Oh well, 18 lakhs down the drain. Will just get basic boring transportation for 18 freak ing lakhs! Can't wait for the Civic to come out.

AoA Everyone, I am expecting my GLI to reach any time in this week and would like to ask experienced members for some guidance.

    1) Is it a wise decision to not to register the car in this month and get it registered next year?
    2) The insurance companies are quoting 3.0% to 3.5% (without tracker). The dealer recommends EFU insurance at 3.25%. Any suggestions?
    3) I want to install central locking and back camera with the standard multimedia system. Is it recommended to let Toyota dealer to install their system to keep the warranty intact and paying on a higher side or should I go for cheaper options in the market (that will compromise warranty)?

I am looking forward to hearing from you guys

    JazakAllah

    1) Is it a wise decision to not to register the car in this month and get it registered next year?

Ans: The year of registration does not matter. 2015 will be the model on your registration no matter even if you get it registered after six months.

    2) The insurance companies are quoting 3.0% to 3.5% (without tracker). The dealer recommends EFU insurance at 3.25%. Any suggestions?

Ans: I got mine 1.6 registered with at 2.00 percent from Askari General Insurance with tracker, though I dodged tracker installation so far because it is a useless thing.

The trick is to bargain. Get the quotes from a couple of companies (get their numbers from their websites) and negotiate.

    3) I want to install central locking and back camera with the standard multimedia system. Is it recommended to let Toyota dealer to install their system to keep the warranty intact and paying on a higher side or should I go for cheaper options in the market (that will compromise warranty)?

Ans: Any wire cut or addition of accessories, outside dealership, would void your warranty, so make your choice.

true that my friend, I used to see a lot of new corollas on the road and I was like lets shift to PKDM this time and I was disappointed after a week's drive. Though this car has its pros but it does not have a WOW factor that u get in a JDM. I wish I would have bought premio 2012 or vezel. I mean my vitz being a 2nd hand 2013 model has better breaks, seats, plastics and paint than a brand new corolla. Apart from suspension even my vitz IMO is more nice to drive. The biggest + point for me with this corolla is that I can sell it in profit in future which sadly is not the case in JDM.

Vitz is slightly better than Mehran. It even comes nowhere to any variant of Corolla. Even 9th Gen Corolla was way better than Vitz and this generation is so far the best in local PKDM Corollas

Totally agree ... I sold Vitz 2011 after only one thousand KM drive a sluggish hatchback is not even in comparison with any sedan

Altis on premium seriously? Altis is mostly readily avaliable at max 30 days waiting
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Sir, I know that most people won't agree with you but I think that you might be right. Yes, both Vitz and Corolla have their own pros and cons and are in different categories but let me just say this: I like my Swift more than the Corolla. I wait at home for it to return so that I can drive that instead of Corolla. Corolla is just bulky, huge, boring, basic transportation. There is no fun in driving, high speed isn't encouraged. Although the car can easily go to high speeds but once you are there you still feel bored and not entertained. Plus, I honestly don't trust the brakes. The back brakes should hold the car enough that the back half doesn't always feel like pushing the front during braking. This might be because the car is heavy or big or whatever. The point being: not fun to drive. I like a 12 82 000 car allot more.

Regarding your third question, while buying my Altis 1.6, I asked several dealerships about installing fog lights in my Altis 1.6, to my surprise, one of them plainly refused doing so, while others replied that installing any additional electrical accessory even from Toyota dealership, would count in modification, and would void the electrical warranty. I am quoting the reply of Toyota Defence Motors, Karachi, as an example.

Earnestly speaking, after getting this reply from several dealerships, I lost interest in keeping the so-called electrical warranty in tact.

I have a grande and the acceleration seems adequate considering it to be an 1800 cc PKDM vehicle but I'd have to give you a +1 on your last comment on waiting for civic
