Altis 1.6 price is increased on indus toyota website with no upgrade, good news for existing owners, but really bad for market, without any addition they have increased the value, even pak rupees is very stable against dollar with very low inflation rates, that is total monopoly.

I think rumors about upgrade are spread by companies to keep people excited and as a reason to increase price and at the end we get few streaks of chrome on the body. Other thing is there is monopolization rather than true competition in the auto market. Even without upgrades and good safety features their production in unable to meet the demand.

Mera yehi experience k dealerships ko kabhi nae pata houta k kya kya features honay. Woh bas customers ko attract karnay k liye bht kuch khudi se add kar detay aur in the end houta wohi jo shuro se houta ah raha. I think agar IMC walay features add naah bhi karay tou un ki phir bhi sales hoti hi rehni but still we can hope for the best! Akhir is generation se un ko bht faida huwa hai, shaed isi waja se kuch acha hi change le ahain.

But that's great news for current 11th gen. Altis 1.6 owners I got mine in 1.949 million and now it's 1.994 million Rs. 45,000 appreciation in merely 3 months

Bhai mana lo khushi , actually i was planning to get new altis 1.6 and really hoping that it gets immobilizer, because i consider insurance as overhead, you cannot just insure your car every year, what if it get stolen after 5 years ?. Now it is i think too expensive as compared to feature they are offering. I am now seriously considering 2nd hand 2012-2013 Altis, it has air bags, side skirts. also tax will be less so do the insurance, i don't think consider same engine and transmission spending 4-5 lacs more just for shape is a good idea.

Agreed with you but if you want immobilizer and dual air bags, then why not to buy 2010-11 Civic, as 10th gen. Altis still lacks immobilizer, and air bag for front seat passenger. I do agree with you that 10th gen. Altis 1.6 possesses the same engine and transmission as the 11th gen., but still 11th. gen. Altis is better than 10th gen. Altis in several aspects, including improved aerodynamics shape, better front and rear leg room, bigger cabin, better brakes, choice of super white colour, and last but not the least, better resale, which makes it worth spending few extra bucks to get the 11th gen. rather than the 10th one.

I think toyota is making way to drop 1.6 altis from the range by increasing price of 1.6 version. Main aim for altis1.6 production run was for motorway police order.

Logically Rs.49 k increase without any goodies doesnt makes any sense. They have narrowed the gap between 1.6 and basic 1.8.

Sir, the gap between Altis 1.6 and Altis 1.8 (Base model) prices has indeed been narrowed but it is due to the fact that IMC is yet to update price of Altis 1.8 on its website. Once increased to Rs. 25K (as per Dawn), the gap would again become the same.

Like Altis 1.6, GLI 1.3 variants' prices have also been increased by Rs. 35K without any value addition, so does it mean they too would be discontinued like Altis 1.6?
