    Dear all

I am observing this problem in my 1671 Km driven Altis 1.6 that whenever I fully rotate the steering wheel either clockwise or anti-clockwise, I hear a slight tuk tuk sound from steering wheel. The sound is not produced when the steering is turned full in either direction while the car is stationary and when the steering is rotated partially in either direction, while the car is moving. The tuk tuk sound is only produced when speed of car is lowered and steering is fully rotated in either direction to turn the car. Occasionally as well, the tuk tuk sound is not produced when the steering is fully rotated in either direction while the car is moving.

    What could be the issue?

PS: A respected member @ahmadbila gave this possible explanation, which is being reproduced here under:

guys there is absolutely no need to panic on this.i hope u ve already figured it out but if not, let me explain.

you all know that steering wheel needs a constant supply of electric current to keep the horn alive.but u also know that steering wheel always remains in circular motion so no solid connections can be made with to provide current. that's why they connect the steering piece with the steering column ( for electric current) with a small metal strip which keeps on running on the metallic circular strip of the steering wheel. this way, the steering is always in connection with the electrical circuit for horn even if its being turned.
i made a pic to illustrate what i m talking about here.

now the problem is that somehow the grease which keeps the two rubbing smoothly drys out some how, may be they dont use enough of it or may be they dont use it at all.so all u have to do is get it greased and it ll be gone for ever.nothing to worry about.

Later the guy said ok we are going to investigate this issue and get back to you as soon as we have spoken to the mechanics who handled your car.

Anyone having an idea about the FACELIFT of Corolla? when is it coming and what can we expect in this facelift
it will be a great discussion for the corolla guys as the new civic is making headlines and IMC must do some countermove
    Thanks in advance

Headlines? The car that can only run on highoctane isn't practical for Pakistan.
Btw corolla sales are still higher than civic so they won't think of facelift.
New and improved model just came in. Toyota won't change it for next 1.5 or 2 years

Slight correction/information: Only the Turbo variant needs hi-octane, and that too because of substandard fuel and lower RONs we have in our normal fuel.
The normal 1.8 Civic doesn't need it.

Yeah, 1.8 with old school 2 generation and 10years old R18 engine. Also, our normal fuel of PSO has an octane rate of 87 and total is mantaining the octane rate at 88-89.
It needs high octane for the proper working of turbo. A great number of 1.5 turbo has been booked. I don't know how people gonna find high octane. Even in Lahore, sometimes it is available sometimes not

It's old school or 2 generations old, still it's a Civic and doesn't need hi-octane to run. Please re-check your statement above. "Civic" doesn't need hi-octane to run.
Only the 1.5 Turbo Civic needs hi octane to run. Facts are facts. The engine in a 1.8 is a secondary debate and has nothing to do with the rule of "Civic can only run on hi-octane"

    Typical honda guy
    Which varaint is making headlines?
Which variant is top of the line?
Argue on the basis of factual statments instead of running in a circle. Still it's a civic with old engine and new body, and stay happy in buying a car with same old engine.
