    Project Reborn 8th Gen Civic 2007 - 272964

The policy is very vague, in Chapter 6, "consumer welfare" it mentions 'compulsory installation of immobilizer in cars by OEM', but does not specify a date. The only part of the policy that comes into effect on 1-7-16 is the one pertaining to financial benefits of setting up a new manufacturing facility

    The policy is available here
    http://boi.gov.pk/userfiles1/file/AutoPolicy/AP.pdf

As the policy runs through to 2021, i assume it has to be done anytime before that

It should have had an implementation deadline date on it.
Not everybody buying these cars specially the ones buying XLi due to bugdet are rich enough to bear the loss, else why wouldnt they want to buy a Grande? The cheaper the car, the harder it is for an owner to recover from a loss. The biggest shock upon stolen vehicle being for a Mehran owner.

Most of those who can afford the more expensive cars have them insured, but the ones spending their savings and buying the basic most cars possibly cant afford insurances and trackers easily.

And not to forget, despite an insurance the loss on book value cost, taxes and reg. cost going in vain, the claims of a stolen vehicle are bound to put the unlucky owner through agony and time before he could recover something after all the police rappats and legal formalities.

Exactly, its not their fault that they are buying xli, they can't afford one lakh more. Immobilizer should be mandatory along with abs

Didn't Mbenz destroy teslas autopilot in the e class? Read it somewhere. Mbs new s class will upset them all as it has always done. My brother works there and has seen the prototype. Apart from that, toyota is all good.

A driver just died in a Tesla on Autopilot. They company says it's autopilot is still in Beta phase and they recommend drivers to keep themselves standby on manual control to take over the car.

Instead of going through all the loss of car, registration and everything that you have done and doing all that again and waiting after booking going through all the hassle, I suggest it would be far more economical for you to get it insured.

No loss at all brother. Hardly any impact on resale and you can easily sell it even above the invoice price of new due to long delivery waiting period, withholding tax and registration cost. It is still attractive to nonfilers who need a car right away.

Immobiliser cannot be installed, I checked from Toyota and have posted their reply in this thread.
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

    1. Grande is a car that has sunroof and a few other items that differentiate it from a non sunroof. Mainly the additional items on a Grande are Leather interior, Driver seat height adjustment, Chromed fog lights, Climate control, Rain sensing wipers, Paddle Shift.

    2. Manual and CVTi have another difference which is cruise control, Grande manual nor Altis 1.8 Manual have cruise. Both 1.8 CVTi and Grande CVTi have cruise.

    3. First of all you can say bye bye to the entertainment DVD/Navigation in Civic which will be an optional extra, Secondly Hardtop Civic doesn't come with Alloy Rims, usually no retractable mirrors, no fog lights. These items may be missing from Civic. The Civic will have e-brake, auto brake hold and driver height adjustment though. Furthermore about the additional ones on Civic I can't comment if Civic base model will also have Push Start, VSA, Auto door locks or not. Can only be known once official specs are available.
