Can anyone confirm if the suspension of 2015 Grande and 2016 Grande is same? i.e, Macpherson strut with independent rear axles. Urgent reply required please.

For those who have 1.8 and have driven 1.6 and vice versa, how is the drive of a conventional automatic transmission different from a CVT?

I used to have 2012 1.6 with the same engine and gearbox that Altis 1.6 have. Now, I have Altis 1.8 cvt. I must say there is a huge difference. It's so responsive and yet economical. Well, cvts are good enough that you can't even compare with old conventional jerking gearbox.

@autophile will be able to give a proper review as I believe the Auto 1.6 would be lively to drive and the cvt gives a deal feel..

Of course if you floor it cvt will have grunt of its own being 1.8

You will have to wait till next month, when I lay my hands of my first ever CVTi vehicle

Well I was never bored with 1ZR-FE mated to 4 speed AT. I enjoyed the muffled engine roar and sudden surge of life whenever I floored it. Had good enough punch and torque.

CVT has its own perks, it's silent smoother and better responsive. Only thing I don't like in CVT is when you floor the pedal the RPM A GOES TO 5-6 and stays there and changes gear itself and you don't feel any gear changes at all....

Conventional transmission is good but not as economical as CVT. When you floor it you feel it's gear changes either downshift or upshift.

It's all matter of preferences, I prefer CVT but the jerky feeling is quite amusing for me

A quick review from my side of Altis 1.6 auto after 500 kms

    1. Very smooth gear shifting if you keep it light on pedal... much better shifting than city auto
    2. Interior quality is not that bad, i find it good, however power windows plastic feels cheap and rough.
    3. Suspension win my heart, sail through broken roads without dhug sound
    4. Now comes with immobilizer, mud flaps and underneath cover for hood and trunk .
    5. Navigation and camera are very usable and with 6 speaker setup there is no need to upgrade for average user.
    6. Fuel average on meter 9.5 km/liter with 100% AC in congested traffic, pretty good for initial run, I am sure it can do 11 km/l with the route which i take, where PKDM WR used to give me 14-14.5km/l with 100% ac.
    7. Sound less cabin and General tires seems reasonable, I am not a rash driver nor travel to highway often.

    Cons

    1. Slight body roll on steep curve without backseat passenger
    2. Headlight Low beam is not sufficient
    3. Front camera is must if you want to keep the front save
    4. 2 Air bags should be mandatory!
    5. Nothing!!!

Thank you pakwheels and this forum, I find all the information very useful and really set my expectations which are not so different than my experience so far.

For the low and high beam, I would suggest you to go for good bulbs like osram night breakers or philips xtremevisions. There are some people I know that are selling them at Pakwheels. A pair will cost you around 4000rs

Also, how much the front camera costs with fitting?
