Also, I didn't chose synthetic like 5w50 because If I really need to pour taglon than I would rather chose Mobil 1 5w50 over it. There isn't any good filter in Pakistan that can surpass the mileage of 6-7k kms and bear the load. People here get the fully synthetic oil flushed even before it has passed its cleaning stage? Why put a synthetic oil if you won't let it do its work properly? I'm changing mineral oil at 5000km, it's cheap and doing its work properly. I haven't faced any issues with it. I'm getting the best fuel economy from Altis 1.8 cvti and a real quiet engine so I would not go for synthetic as long as I won't have oil filters like mann, k&n long life or mobil1 oil filters.

Also its more protective in extra hot conditions like start stop in traffic. it also fulfills your oem requirements.
It's not the recommended oil for 2zrfe and 1zrfe globally.
Also, there is nothing like engine oil and the hot enviornment. Engine works at double the amount of temperature as your enviornment is. Almost all toyota oil has equaly flash point temperatures. Pouring 5w50 is like putting extra load on this engine and it will increase the consumption of petrol.
People in California drive crown vics V8 in 48 degree celcius with 0w20 for years even in high traffic.
Oil and hot enviornment is a myth.

better oil like taglon would still be more protective and more fuel efficient. its your choice but its not completely logical.

choosing mineral over synthetic since it does its work, a better explanation would be that its cheaper and still full fill oem requirements.

i have used fully synthetic oil in my other car with 5k change interval and guard filters. its 290k driven ALHAMD U LILLAH no issues ever. engine still works and performs fine with 100% AC all the time in the city, on the mountains on motorways. so synthetics have their advantages in longer runs.

My dealership offers petron and taglon only. If I purchase petron plus from market and take to dealership for oil change, will they accept it keeping the warranty intact?

Synthetic oil with a 150rs oil filter. That's like buying a corolla with an intention to put mehran rims. 😆
The oil like taglon isn't recommended on a global scale for 1zrfe and 2zrfe.
Some senior pakwheelers like Xulfiqar bhai also opted for 5w30 or 10w30 coz 50 viscosity will put extra load on this engine.

Its good govt is upgrading petrol from 87 rons to 92 from September. Price will also increase by 2.60 rs. It will give better fuel economy and smooth engine running.

I specifically asked for it during last oil change but they didn't have it.

One more thing, when air filter replacement needs to be done? In 2 oil changes they just cleaned it. I'm going for a new air filter at next oil change whatsoever. But I thought that air filter will be changed at 2nd oil change.

also 20W-50 also means 50 viscosity which is being put by default by all dealerships so its simple a synthetic is better than mineral any day no questions. even Xulfiqar would back it up.

and rest 5w-30 fully synthetic is good. but if u ask me if u go through start stop traffic on ur usual commute every day option for 5w-50 would be a safer choice.
