The difference is 102k including registration (filer). If you live & drive in Islamabad then manual is ok. Other cities you might miss auto. Plus re-sale will also be problem in 1.8 . Better go for 1.6 and if you have money later on, switch to cvt-i 1.8 . Rest, follow your heart, because it will be you driving & enjoying the car .

Thanks Fahad Bhai. I am from Lahore. You have pointed out good facts but for resale Manual 1.8 can be sold at least same rate as of GLI manual or better. I am planning to keep it for long run InShaALLAH

Well my atlis grande(1.8) hovers between 8.4-9.5 and i just cannot image how people drive those who are getting 12 . I do notice best economical speed is above 40kph and below 80, because when ever i drive in that range mileage on meter seems to improve

My quoted figures is with careful driving, i loved to rev it but unfortunately for this I have to find clear road which is hard to find in karachi. 12 km/l can only be achieved with clear roads/signal free long route.

Have been driving the car for ten days or so. Noticed a few problems which can be easily solved by the dealership

1.Steering touches against the main body of the dash. Slight rubbery feel and noise can be noted when you take a U turn at slow speeds. The mechanics can fix this within ten to fifteen minutes by loosening the housing and moving it forward.
    2. Wheel alignment ; the alignment is really bad. When i put the steering in the centre, the car should go straight but instead it goes to a sharp right angle. The dealership has to do this for free.
    3. The AC doesn't cool unless the car starts moving or i rev the engine. Is it a corolla thing? Because it's my first automatic corolla. Please advice a solution for this.

No first two issues. About third one, i noticed strange thing. If many days passes without driving car with AC, it takes a 30secs for AC to actually turned on but if using car reguarly , AC turns on in an instant. But no complaints with AC performance. Its better than 8th gen civic i had before.

Somebody saying something about within city mileage? Fuel needle and total mileage doesn't lie.
Do the proper engine run in upto 2000km. First oil change at 2500kms and try to keep eco indicator between 4-5 bars
Car odo had 8000km at this moment

And also tell people that you are using Petron plus 10-30 mineral oil

Can't say on behalf of others, but I am not saying that meter is wrong or something. Thing is mileage depends on many factors.. Even if you have empty road but you stop every 4 kms then your mileage going to suffer. If you travel signal free with minimum traffic within city than obviously it is as same as driving on highway. Even if you have difficult parking every time at work or at home, your mileage will suffer because there will be too much braking and power loss. Fuel quality, tire pressure, load in car to name the few other factors affecting car mileage, So that is why people get varying mileage with same spec car, even with same oil and miles on odo.

The best figures one can get is to compare his ride with his another ride with same driving habit, route, timings & load. I moved from new pkdm WR, it used to give me 14-14.5 km/l with 100% AC on same route after break-in time.

So, i came to know from your post that you own/ed 10th gen 1.6 corolla, how much it used to give you on similar driving condition as you run you cvti today ?

My gli 2010 gives 10-11 within city
Motorway it gives 14-15. 16 on national highway.
My Altis 2012 cruisetronic sr used to give 11-12 within city, never drove it on motorway on that car, but it used to give the same amount of fuel consumption on national highway as my gli.
1.8 cvti Altis. Well that's a biggy, 11-13 according to the foot and 17-18 on motorway. Haven't driven on national highway yet.
All figures are with ac on
