Default 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis Grande

    Salam members,

Let me introduce you to my new car. After six months of waiting i booked this car at Toyota Capital Motors Islamabad on 18th July, 2014. Initially they gave me an approximate delivery date of second week of August but i got a call from them just 3 days before Eid that my car was here. My Salute to them !!

Of course it was not an easy decision as i had to choose between Honda Civic VTi Oriel MT (2,253,000 PKR) and this Toyota Corolla Altis Grande MT(2,149,000 PKR). As both car makers have a longstanding reputation for delivering reliable and fuel-effcient family sedans. But finally i opted for this particular variant as it offers the best value for money and for the following reasons:

1.8 Altis Grande comes with the standard features like: Bucket Leather Seats (Softex Material), 8" Android based LCD with Navigation and Rear View Camera and Reclining back seats. Moreover, this relatively new Engine 2 ZR-FE is more responsive and fuel efficient as it comes equipped with SFi (Sequential Fuel Injection) and ACIS (Acoustic Controlled Induction System).

No offense to the OP but I would advise you to go for civic. Honda has an absolutely amazing drive and technology wise it is always 2 steps ahead of Toyota.
Compare honda's ivtec technology with toyota's dual vvti.
When this new Corolla was launched, it was an eye candy but now it has become so common. All the rent-a-car people have replaced 10th gen with new 11th gen xlis. Go to bao bazar saddar rawalpindi and you will see dozens of xli being converted into grande (appearance wise). So no one bothers either its real grande or xli converted grande, its same corolla, its not in limelight anymore. Also, initially it looked good in pictures but in real, it seems out of proportion. Whereas civic will always retain its reputation and resale value. Also it comes with an immobilizer.

Sorry bro I don't agree with you. You said so many are converting appearance wise to grande, this in its self tells you it popular whereas the civic seems so outdated. I fir one would go for a grande any day

Then go for Gli. Its a market car, you can sell it anytime with profit. Plus you can also enjoy the new looks of Corolla if you like it.
Also if the roads are bad, you don't need 1800cc.

I have xli 2007 now want a different ride and class
Civic is indeed a class but too low (any owner can confirm)
While grande seems fine but still confused

    1) 11.1 Km/L

    2) If i were you, i would go for Grande as it is new, offers the best value for money and is definitely a head-turner !!

    3) If you go for Civic, It is an equally good car but in my opinion the back of that car is plain hideous. You will have to get a bodykit and replace the stock lights (back lights) in order to improve its appearance. Plus you won't be getting the leather seats and navigation system in the standard model.

The taste of the pudding is in its eating. Those who cannot appreciate the finer things in life will never be able to tell the difference between a Grande and an Xli.
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

My point. You have to develop a 'special' taste in order to like altis/grande because logic does not support it.

I think SFI is only coupled with 2 ZR-FE rest all variants have traditional EFI systems.

You failed to mention the "Passenger Side Airbag" the same way you are constantly failing to give concrete reasons for your hatred against Altis Grande.

My brotherly advice to you, Life is too short to sit around whining about mud-flappers. Hahaha..,

It is a good gadget to keep if you want to know more about your Engine parameters and other stuff. You can get it from this guy Aftab (+923365135682) for 1500rs. He lives in G-7/4.

No, i am afraid you cannot connect it with your infotainment system. But you can use it on your android phone.
