Default 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis Grande

    Salam members,

Let me introduce you to my new car. After six months of waiting i booked this car at Toyota Capital Motors Islamabad on 18th July, 2014. Initially they gave me an approximate delivery date of second week of August but i got a call from them just 3 days before Eid that my car was here. My Salute to them !!

Of course it was not an easy decision as i had to choose between Honda Civic VTi Oriel MT (2,253,000 PKR) and this Toyota Corolla Altis Grande MT(2,149,000 PKR). As both car makers have a longstanding reputation for delivering reliable and fuel-effcient family sedans. But finally i opted for this particular variant as it offers the best value for money and for the following reasons:

1.8 Altis Grande comes with the standard features like: Bucket Leather Seats (Softex Material), 8" Android based LCD with Navigation and Rear View Camera and Reclining back seats. Moreover, this relatively new Engine 2 ZR-FE is more responsive and fuel efficient as it comes equipped with SFi (Sequential Fuel Injection) and ACIS (Acoustic Controlled Induction System).

As of now i have just driven the car 244 kms so i cannot quote any exact figures. But from what i have calculated the car is giving me 11 Kms/L. Out of 244 only 25kms were driven without AC.

Trust me this 6-speed MT along with 2 ZR-FE is engineered to give you an "Adrenaline Rush". Other than this, being an old-school manual transmission lover i find the gear changing experience quite exhilarating !!

Ma-Sha-Allah, May you be blessed with more!
very nice color choice indeed, however, the gap between rear tyre and arch is looking hideous, lowered it by 2, 3 inches atleast.
    Regret is unprofessional...

Yes the previous 1.6 Altis Manual already a treat to drive. This new one will be damn more responsive.Honda should also now give 6speed manual as i found the gearing in manual civic to be too long

    Masha'Allah ! Allah naseeb kare.
Do keep us updated about the various aspects of this car, and do take care of that hideous gap, its spoiling the looks of those magnificent wheels.

Is the MT Grande having Cruise Control this time?
Does the MT Grande have Paddle shiftters? I don't think those that It have Paddle Shiftters, right?
No, my friend. Both of these things are coming with the Automatic Variant only.

It is an ordinary micro-SD card that i got from a mobile shop. Just download the Sygic apk(From a torrent site), install it on your android platform and you are good to go. Then you will just have to download the maps for Pakistan (540Mb).

Yar, its really hot and humid in Islamabad these days. It is almost impossible to drive a car with out air conditioning. The guy at the dealership told me not to Rev it hard (Until 1000km). So i try to keep it around 2000 rpm.

Yar, the suspension works really well considering the poor roads and potholes in Islamabad right now because of the Metro Bus project. I have further noticed a positive change in the comfort/suspension after replacing Euro Star with Yokohama tires. But then these corollas were always equipped with softer suspensions, so nothing out of the ordinary.
