Default 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis Grande

    Salam members,

Let me introduce you to my new car. After six months of waiting i booked this car at Toyota Capital Motors Islamabad on 18th July, 2014. Initially they gave me an approximate delivery date of second week of August but i got a call from them just 3 days before Eid that my car was here. My Salute to them !!

Of course it was not an easy decision as i had to choose between Honda Civic VTi Oriel MT (2,253,000 PKR) and this Toyota Corolla Altis Grande MT(2,149,000 PKR). As both car makers have a longstanding reputation for delivering reliable and fuel-effcient family sedans. But finally i opted for this particular variant as it offers the best value for money and for the following reasons:

1.8 Altis Grande comes with the standard features like: Bucket Leather Seats (Softex Material), 8" Android based LCD with Navigation and Rear View Camera and Reclining back seats. Moreover, this relatively new Engine 2 ZR-FE is more responsive and fuel efficient as it comes equipped with SFi (Sequential Fuel Injection) and ACIS (Acoustic Controlled Induction System).

Bro mind telling which insurance company and at what premium plus the insurance type. Sorry for asking questions but I need this information for my car and it will be very helpful in deciding.

Hahaha.., Bhai being a developing country, we are not getting a lot many things. Saying this in a broader prespective. This climate control is the least of my concerns. I know Honda Oriel has it, so please spare me with that. Secondly, I have learned to cherish the things i have !

My friend, these sort of teething problems do exist in brand new cars. Nothing out of the ordinary. I noticed it when i got the delivery of the car but since i got my car just 3 days before Eid, there maintenance crew was on leave.

Yar, I visited Honda Classic (I-10, Islamabad) to check out an Oriel MT before booking my car. There was a top of the line model (Oriel Prosmatec) in display there. The CSR guy had to smack the trunk ( "Seven" Times: Not exaggerating) just to close it. Secondly, the safety lever which prevents the bonnet from accidentally opening was loose as hell. So please don't give biased opinions !

If you read my post properly I said other brands at least fix these minor issues after some time. Current-gen civic also had tons of minor issues but at least Honda bothered to fix these unlike Toyota who are carrying these minor issues since 2004 Corolla and have made them their trademark!

Dude, i saw this particular car in June, 2014 !!. And this current civic was launched in 2013 i think if i remember correct. Your definition of "Some time" seems vague to me. Please I don't want to get further into this useless discussion.

Just to add, civic had door issue which is fixed, mudflaps issue which is fixed, I agree with the trunk, some civics do have it and Honda haven't fixed it yet.
Yup you're right you win, IMC and Corolla rocks. It's useless to waste time showing Corolla fans the reality.

Hahaha.., Yar every one is a winner in their own way. Actually, i like Corollas but i madly hate IMC for spoiling each and every car, they get their hands on. Thank you and i really appreciate it.
