Default Oil reduction problem in Altis 2007

Expert opinion needed about reduction of engine oil in corolla Altis 2007... I m using zic A for last 6 months earlier was using zic A+... Oil change interval is 3500 to 4000 kilometers... It consumes almost half liter oil in four thousand kilometers if driven on highways but doesn't consume much if driven within city...

250k??? im 100% gadi ka pcv valve farigh hoga! remove the pcv valve and try shaking it if u can smoothly hear a rattling sound that means pcv is ok but if its kinda phas phas keh ah rahi hai ya bilkul nae ah rahi that means its time to change the pcv!

iv read alot of forums where they claim that this is a myth that fully synthetic is not recommended for old engines! maybe xulfiqar can shed some light on this topic! iv been using mobil1 fully synthetic oil since the first oil change and im still using it and iv never faced any problems! dont know if my engine now comes under the category of old or not but iv had no problems with fully synthetic!
iv read alot of forums abt the 1zzfe engine too and seems like this is a very problematic engine when it comes to consuming oil! ajeeb ajeeb cheezein happen such as piston ring chipakna start ho jatay hein etc etc...i think mobil1 has saved me from alot of problems! im not marketing mobil1 keh nae sab ko mobil1 hee dalna chaeyay!

Yes it is just a myth. It is not recommeded in old engines only because most synthetic oils are manufacured in very thin vicosties like 0W or 5W. In Older engines clearences increase and this would cause oil to burn in cylinders...if your car does not consume oil you can use thin synthetic oils without any problem.....infact they would be better....

The 1zz engines in altis has this issue of consuming a little bit of engine oil. It's normal. And yours doesn't seem that much either. I guess its normal in your case too.

I also have altis 2007 1.8 88k driven i use Mobil 5W30 and car reduces 0.5L after 5000-6000km and i drain the oil after 5k km.

hehe...!! bro i have tested each and every oil in pakistani market and found that shell oils are most pathetic. and shell yellow 10w40 is 100% mineral. It looses its viscosity after 2000-2500km. Caltex is much better compared to shell in local oils.
