It's a Tiny thing. Ask your Painter to do the 'kalam' thing and Remove the discoloration. The Scars will Remain Though. Claiming insurance has its own Hurdles and worst is that Next year's Premium shall Increase.

1- Economy; Get it repaired & repainted.
2- If insured get it replaced.

Dude, be honest with yourself and everyone else! Get it repaired the right and genuine way, not by making up some lies!

Rightly said, i dont plan to manipulate it whatsoever and since the bumpet is not dented its cut i expect a replacement from the insurance company.
This is what they are supposed to do at time of need. I wont be kicking it or damaging it further. The cut is visible. And the heating solutions and repairs wont be tolerable to me to since its a 2012 model.

an honest and worthy advice given by Vajih.

Completely surprised to see members making short-cuts for such a small scratch.

get the paint damaged areas kalam and leave the rest alone
if you get this part painted, there will be color difference which will lead to the whole bumper repaint.
Its not a big deal. my civic got hit the 3rd month after I bought it. the bumper has small scars, I just kalamed the area where the paint was peeled off and thats it.

Get it repaired and painted through insurance, whole bumper, colour matching will be ok if done from 3S dealers but it will not have any effect on resale. I dont think that it needs and would be replaced by insurance.

My experience from 3s dealerships is worst. My gun metallic stayed at toyota walton for 12 days for one bumper matching and they badly failrd. And then i got it done from Hyundai sajjad motors and its wow.
I plan to keep the car for a while. So reselling not really on my mind. Just want it in good condition till the time its with me.
Thinking to get claim done after eid inshAllah.

The bumper cut would not be repaired by the company they will replace it. If you repair and ask them for the paint job they will do it otherwise it'll be replaced by the company cos they dont have such repairers

I too had problem with Toyota 3S, same gun metallic color. They did the bumper 3 times but were unable to match.

The buggers match the color in the basement, then Ustad asks for some black or brown shade adjustment and then when its on the car in sunlight its shades apart.

Just leave the bumper at is is, less people will stare at your car with an " Evil eye ".
    Or get it urrm Repaired.
Not worth wasting time with Insurance for a small job.
Turbo lag is like foreplay. You know it's coming. And it's gonna be good.

^ seriously you guys have so much time to worry about 100% match repainted bumper. Any paint would show different shades on plastic and metal. If I was you I would claim and come home with the car. Go back to get the new bumper fixed and pictures taken only.

You are right, but it hurts when you pay them and it does not match the body, the skirts and rear bumper. 3 different shades.
