    Default 2014 Corolla 1.3 GLi AT - aliusman420

So Alhamdulillah finally our brand new Corolla 1.3 GLi AT arrived today. Kindly do say Masha Allah
We needed a family car and this new gorgeous Corolla recently launched which everyone fell in love with so we decided to go for it. As it would have been a general family use car we decided upon 1.3 GLi, initially we were planning to go for the manual one as had doubts about the automatic one, but after reading what our fellow @InNoCeNt_DeViL stated in his review of the test drive he took of GLi AT, our decision changed and we booked the automatic one. Due to the unstable security situation in Islamabad test drives are not being given.
Date of booking on PBO was 19th August and car was delivered to us on 1st October.
So far loving every bit of it, Alhamdulillah money well spent.
It has put the critics to rethink their statement of the car being under-powered, Masha Allah the throttle response is very good.
Currently the car is a Night Rider it is mainly being used in the second half of the day.
    So here go the reviews:
    1. Quick review from dealership to home Page 1 Post #3.

    2. Short review Page 4 Post #65.
    3. Daylight pics Page 4 Post #64.
    4. Slightly longer review Page 5 Post #96.

    5. Comparison with Lancer Page 6 Post #116.
    6. Brief comparison with Prius 1.8 Page 8 Post #145.
    7. Recent pictures Page 13 Post #253.
    8. First ever long journey of the car review along with pictures, Islamabad to Lahore via Motorway Page 18 Post #359.
    9. Extensive detailing session carried out on the car Page 22 Post #421.

    Stay tuned for more updates

As for fuel consumption, we can't truly say anything unless the car clocks above 5,000 km, and the 11 km/l figure I quoted is when the car is only driven around 670 km. In summers AC has to be turned on to get rid of the heat and in winters it has to be turned on at night for defogger purposes, plus I drive with a heavy foot and car idles a lot.
Yes 1.6 Altis has added advantages but we all know what fate of Altis has been in past few models, it always loses money whereas GLi appreciates, and as for me we certainly didn't buy it for resale purposes otherwise would've sold it the day it got delivered and had earned a good 1.5 lakh premium.
Eco lamp is there in GLi AT as well, fuel consumption will improve over time and rest goodies can be installed aftermarket.
Rest the choice is yours, if you can afford a loss of at least 2 lakhs in a year go for Altis otherwise GLi AT is a better option to be honest.
Thank you so much for your detailed reply which is very useful and convincing and I hope that my light foot on gas pedal would attain better fuel economy

One more thing. Don't be afraid of hill drive during first 1,000 Kms as engines are pre-run in the factory, plus new cars are sold in hilly areas and they go up and down without any problem.

Immoblizer it self is a feature.
Its work is to prevent the theif to start the car
For example my swift it has immoblizer
now i got 3 keys with it
Every key have a chip in its body shells and a chip or similer(installed) in car from factory
When i insert key in the car the chip or similer thingy installed in the car detects the key inserted in it if its original key or fake key
if i insert genuine key the car identifies the key by the chip installed in the key then car gets started.this all steps are performed in micro seconds by immoblizer
So when theift insert the key in the car it wont get started as they dont have geniune key
    Hope you understand

So my cousin who has owned several cars including 8th Gen Civic, current City and Toyota Premio 1.8 drove this car yesterday.
He was like I will pick this car any day over City, it is more comfortable, more spacious and better value for money overall, and its drive is like that of 8th Gen Civic in comfort level, and as for the engine being "under-powered", he said that this is a family car and is reasonably powerful enough, the throttle response is pretty good, no power lag, and if one has to drag race and stuff like that, he should do it on the cars built for this purpose and not on these family sedans.

If your cousin is talking about comfort level
Its better than 8th gen civic Reborn infact much better

But yes the only bad or negative thing about 8th gen civic is , its really old now
Rest it is a great car
Excellent interior and driving seat position
    And the best road grip
This new corolla has much better grip than 9th gen civic but still 8th ki class thi ...

    Default 2014 Corolla 1.3 GLi AT - aliusman420

Okay so I am in Lahore.
The car performed really well Alhamdulillah even with 5 passengers on board and trunk stuffed with luggage. Fuel average is a bit low because the car clocked 1000 km on this trip which is still going on.
Here is pic of speedometer at 120 km/h. I had to keep a lot of care of my right foot otherwise the car clocked 140 km/h without any effort.
