    Default 2014 Corolla 1.3 GLi AT - aliusman420

So Alhamdulillah finally our brand new Corolla 1.3 GLi AT arrived today. Kindly do say Masha Allah
We needed a family car and this new gorgeous Corolla recently launched which everyone fell in love with so we decided to go for it. As it would have been a general family use car we decided upon 1.3 GLi, initially we were planning to go for the manual one as had doubts about the automatic one, but after reading what our fellow @InNoCeNt_DeViL stated in his review of the test drive he took of GLi AT, our decision changed and we booked the automatic one. Due to the unstable security situation in Islamabad test drives are not being given.
Date of booking on PBO was 19th August and car was delivered to us on 1st October.
So far loving every bit of it, Alhamdulillah money well spent.
It has put the critics to rethink their statement of the car being under-powered, Masha Allah the throttle response is very good.
Currently the car is a Night Rider it is mainly being used in the second half of the day.
    So here go the reviews:
    1. Quick review from dealership to home Page 1 Post #3.

Gun metallic is a good choice and can be easily matched, other than that silver also looks good and gets easily matched too!

Bro go for what you like. Throw away all the fears and enjoy what you want, what you adore.

Secondly. Bhai jaan aik mitti say bhara purana joota layn aur uss painter kee litrol kerayn who says that paint cannot be matched. Then he is not a painter.

Never get your car paintwork from anywhere else other than Toyota 3S who have the proper coded paints and dust free paint booth and bake room.

Car has done around 1800 km till now. Got oil changed today on my own, Valvoline 5w40, drained away the pathetic 20w50 the company uses. Previously average wasn't exceeding 9-9.5 km/l with AC and 10-10.5 without AC, now it is doing 11.5-12 km/l with AC in local driving Alhamdulillah

really nice car you are maintaining masha allah if i haven't said before.

although 2 and L are moostly intended for downhill, currently have 4 automatic cars out of 5 in house and have mostly owned automatics in the past, theres no harm really in driving in 2 or L up hill etc if you want too, it is mentioned in owners manual that if you want to tow something use 2 or L which shows its for stressful situation not just downhill situations.

i also find that in cars which have 2 or L less accelerator is required to be pressed to maintain speed going up a steep ramp then in D such as in my 2006 altis which has similar transmission as yours only with the addition of ECT power button. its probably down to the fact that theres more slack in the torque convertor in D then in L etc

for those who think transmission gets over heated, i have a OBD scanner and in altis it also shows transmission temperature, i found no abnormal increase in temp when accelerating full thorttle on a flat road in L and maybe changing to 2 but not with foot on accelerator.

so factually it shouldn't cause any overheating in long run too. and theres a reason we change ATF fluid after 60k and not lifetime as indicated on some transmission, thats to take care of any such driving situation or stress the transmission takes. if someone is still worried he can change the ATF a little early then.

i hope i have made any confusion about this topic clear

From where you bought Valvoline engine oil? Is this original and genuine engine oil that you bought?

Bought it from a personal contact who is Valvoline Pakistan's distributor, price was around 4k I guess, and yes the oil is genuine, using in both Lancer and Corolla right now, pretty much satisfied Alhamdulillah @speedster_101

Thanks a lot for the nice words and such a detailed reply sir, really helpful!
I like replies like these, which are quite informative and to the point rather than personally bashing someone for reasons unknown, and as I did not keep any automatic car in the past, obviously one takes a little time to get used to something new to him.

My person deals its distributorship in Gilgit-Baltistan area, there is no official distributor in Islamabad as of yet.
