Ok. Well I have seen a gli AT 1.6 with an axio engine n transmission. Its a new car bit the axio engine was obviously from a Japan exported axio. Which means its not a zero km engine. Why would someone do it; well reasons could me many e.g. Head cracks(I mean the gli's), engine had some fault, the owner had an Axio engine fm a totalled car etc etc.
But it seems info on such a car isn't commonly available.

Let me clarify. It's a local gli running on a r er placed Axio engine. The owners said that the Axio engine fits perfectly and is obviously efficient.

no one has come across what you're asking... i was able to figure that out by reading all posts. if you want to question efficiency than yes axio 1.5 engine is more fuel efficient but anyone trying that would get atleast a 5 year old donor car for minimum loss in resale.

If the GLi was accidented at the front and the engine was irreparable, then it could be an viable option.
For a brand new car with a brand new engine, under 2 years warranty- What were you thinki...smoking?

What I can guess is that the car you saw isn't actually a 1.6 GLI Auto but a regular GLI 1.3 in which someone has put in 1.5 Axio Engine and a 1.6 badge to make it look like 1.6 GLI Auto.
This swap from 1.3 to 1.5 makes sense, because whoever did it wanted an economical and powerful 1.5 auto car by investing around Rs. 100000 on a regular GLI.
If it was already 1.6 then this swap would not be justifiable because the starting price of 1.6 GLI is already too high to do such a modification only for the heck of it. But if it was done because it's engine got damaged, the more feasible option would have been to replace the 1.6 with the same engine so the car doesn't lose its value.

So explanations aside, the swap is really easy. The engine fits bolt on, and if you have the complete wiring harness with the engine, there's no modification required at all.

It should work like a charm.

Thanks a lot. Its the old ,I mean the last shape , not the latest shape of gli. So in yr opinion this switch fm 1.6 or 1.3 to the axio 1.5 should be ok.

    I understand that it's 2008-13 model...
What I'm saying is that the swap to 1.5 is possible whether it is 1.3 or 1.6 ... but it is more logical to get a 1.5 in a 1.3.

And yes... definitely... there should be no problems if the engine is bought complete out of the donor car with sensors wiring everything.

I was actually myself thinking of such a project by putting in a 1.8 premio engine into a GLI. But the cost was so high it didn't turn out to be feasible and I dropped the idea.

i purchased a 2014 old shape corolla gli auto brand new with 120km on meter with 1.5axio engine

the original engine was sold to some technical institute in isb for training and the owner replaced the engine from show cut with complete harness till ignition switch

it was running really smooth better then original engine and gave better mileage i.e 12.5pkm

The only reason why a 2014 car would have its engine changed can be damage ... since 1.6 isn't available they replaced it with axio engine. Technical institute thing isn't believable at all.

Inquilabi , yes that's one of those few cars which u have, that I am talking about. Yes he is right about the engine going to a tech. training institute, straight from the zero meter gli, and therefore being replaced by a Axio 1.5. Thanks Khurram26 for yr tech advice. And now I know someone actually owning n recommending this product. But INQUILABI how do you know if its done 120kms? Imean the replacement engine of axio itself would be having at least 45k kms, probably more, when it would have been put into the gli!

Inquilabi, do you still hv this car? I believe these few cars were done in Karachi and the new engines sold to a Tech. training school in Karachi. I also heard that some cars were sold in Islamabad initially. I m glad that I actually found a user and that such a car was used and found ok. I may buy one and therefore could you guide me if there's any improvement that you may suggest.
