    Default Altis 07 steering noise

    Assalam o Alaikum

A slight roaring sound comes from the engine as I turn the steering amd goes off when the steering comes to rest. I suspect the steering pump has served its tenure and needs a service or replacement.

Is it repairable, and other wise how much a new one costs ?

    Regards.

Check for tranmission fluid. Sometimes low level of fluid or blockage in the lines may cause this noise. This is only a tip but after this you can go for other repairs.

How can transmission fluid affect the power steering ?
I think both systems are independent from each other.

The oil level is upto the high mark, changed regularly at 40k.

Please tell me what options do I have.
How reliable is the repair, and what is the price of new genuine oil pump ?

Dear it is repairable. If the repairing guy is an expert then the repair is 100% reliable. Here in quetta its price is 4000 to 5000 Rs for kabuli one.

Brother I was talking about Hydraulic Transmission Fluid. Dont confuse it with auto tranmission oil.

Never repair. It wont last long. Replace it with new or used.
Slight squealing sound comes while turning in this specific model. But loud squealing/screech would definitely be a problem.
