Default Fuel Filter for Corolla GLI 2009....

    AOA

My car is 84000 kms driven... i need some advise from the experts....
as per the manual, fuel filter is to be replaced at 80000 km.. i also want to get it change....MASHALLAH my car has no issue regarding fuel....its giving a decent good average......

i asked the toyota motors sargodha, and they quote me 14000 rupess (including labour charges)for changing of fuel filter.....they said fuel filter price is 10800 rupees.........

i checked it from local market and an auto shop (Niazi Autos) is selling genuine fuel filter (as per their statement) at rupees 5000....

i am quite confused,, what to do..... i know that toyota costs extra money......

can some body please advise me who already has changed the fuel filter.....

Cost me Rs. 8500 from Toyota Capital Motors I-9 around 6-7months back if I remember correctly. There were no labour charges as it was covered in the checkup.

I would not advise you to go and install a genuine filter from toyata motors as first, made in japan ones are easily available in market for around 3k and is of same quality as one offered by genuine and secondly they are asking way too much for labor charges. Normal mechanic can easily do this job with Rs500.

Rs 9000 is way to expensive, replacing fuel filter is a simple half an hour job, I know this as I have number of times replaced this filter myself in past on corolla.

Sir, let me come back to your tomorrow after discussing with my mechanic. I think this guy (mechanic) is reasonable as compared with hundreds of other mechanics in the market.
But my problem is that I cannot find the threads where I was tagged or quoted or mentioned. Its bit complex for me to find such post, but sorry I just found it today. Let me come back to you tomorrow. Sorry the delay.
Let me know where do you live in Lahore?

I have Vitz and i have change its fuel filter Cost Rss. 6500 for Fuel Filter ANd Rs.800 Labour Cost. So the cost of corolla spares is relatively low so it will be around Rs.6000.

    Sir I discussed with mechanic.
He said the fuel filter which is fixed inside the fuel tank is already very good thing and last upto many many years. There is absolutely no need to change it.
However, he said to add another "fuel filter" near the engine. Its very small (just like in motor bikes) and costs like Rs. 200 only including fixing charges. That is good option to choose instead of opening the tank and changing the fuel filter.
However for the good results, never let your fuel tank less than 1/4 or 1/5. Top it up when there are 8~10 liter fuel is in the tank. This process will not let the dirty particles to travel towards engine.

Fuel filter is a pretty rugged sort of thing. If your fuel level in tank remains above, nothing will happen to your fuel filter INSHALLAH. I fully agree with @tintin1...
