    swap from yard means engine number change on regn book, plus you have no track for how long the engine been in yard and how much beating it has taken from which car. Rebuild the engine your vehicle will remain original and with known history. Rebuilding will not cost fortune - check here

    Go with the rebuild....swap only if there is no other choice..
    There is no history available of scrapyard motors. You may end up rebuilding the swapped motor as well and i have seen that in many cases around me who went for a swap...

    Toyota engines does consume oil like 300ml in 1000km or 3000km and it's mentioned in users manual. Rpm increase can be fault of some sensor in throttle body. Blue smoke or smoke can be related to rpm thing as your car may be running rich. Oil u used is 5w30 is recommended oil for this engine. The scrap yard engine will cost you 40 to 50k without gear.

    @ranajawad.tariq

    If genuine and quality engine parts are available for your car, then why you opt out to change the engine? Rebuild the engine with original and quality parts.

    It's true local rebuild by ustaad is never successful but you can make it successful by using the standard and rules of rebuild the engine to factory setting.

    a car ownership means capital investment in Pakistan, would you play high wager on putting up parts from scrap yard with no trace of origin, unless otherwise new are not available or resources are limited, buying scrap is high risk
