Unhappy Made A Mistake In Corolla Engine swap.

So here's the thing, last month I swapped 1nzfe engine on my corolla 2.0D saloon.
    After a month, I find out its not 1NZFE(1500CC), its 2NZFE (1300CC).
Now what do I do? I know this is because of my stupidity, but what should be done now? I really dont see the point of posting a thread now. My elder brother & some mechanic from workshop checked the engine carefully like chambers, tappet etc to see the condition, they did'nt know the exact model of the engine, the shopkeeper in bilal gunj told us it is 1500cc Auto transmission engine. I left everything upto the mechanic and my brother, but yesterday after getting the engine serviced I noticed 2nzfe written on the engine below. Umm is there any solution? Is it our fault or the shopkeeper's fault? we roamed the market for 2 days then bought that engine. It cost us 90k including labour and every other single thing. Im just devastated.

Post the complete engine number here.

Also, you can still get it replaced. Bilal Gunj "anjuman Taajiraan" should help if all else fails. Your mechanic should be able to return the engine as they have a different frequency with those Bilal Gunj Crooks.

But first, post the engine number! Maybe you are good to go.

No @muradi, It's a 2nz-fe. @usmanaliawan123 Just compare the engine block# on your receipt with the one mentioned on the engine. If it defers, get another receipt. That's all. 2nz-fe in 90k is a reasonable deal. 1nz is cheaper plus it's harder to find one in clean condition. if you're satisfied with this one that stick to it. It's one hell of a reliable machine.

On receipt, only the Block Number is written. It is 1233919. Apart from that, I don't know where the engine number is. Check the pictures. Made A Mistake In Corolla Engine swap -1560127Made A Mistake In Corolla Engine swap -1560128Made A Mistake In Corolla Engine swap -1560129

Engine price here in shoba 70k with auto transmission minus 15-20k for diesel engine mean 50k and 10-12k for mechanic+electrician. So total cost will be around 60-62k regards

That's a 1nz-fe. The sticker on the side of the head tells which engine it is. Had it been a 2nz, it would've said 2nz where it says V1Nz. The intake manifold for the 1nz and the 2nz is interchangeable so the kabariyas switch them around.

The engine number is visible if you take off the intake manifold. it is right underneath it. Or you can try and take a picture behind the manifold where the intake runner for cylinder no. 4 (right most) meets the head.

Most 1nz and 2nz engines sent to Pakistan after removing all bits and pieces as straight assy .
So they usually re fitted with things in destination or by civil engines things .
So unless you see the block you are not sure .
    But I think it's 1NZ out of a vitz for sure .
By the way Pakistan 2nz is more costly due to Indus demand so or will be blessing in disguise .
But me personally do not like 2nz with auto tranny even in vitz/Yaris .

One could certainly make that mistake. We are humans.

Just 2 weeks back I almost bought a D13b carby in extraordinary good condition assuming it was D15b carb. I was about to pay when I last time gave another check and noticed the model number on the block and the whole decision changed.

Can happen to anyone when one happens to find a good deal and misses out something important (probably in excitement).

a relative of mine swapped his 97 civic exi with D13b carby. The mechanic told him this is d15b. I happened to read the engine code and told him that this is d13b not d15b. His car was performing very poorly after the swap. Out of all options, he sold his car
