    Dear Fellows,

I am planning to purchase new GLI 1.3 AT, as per your personal experience tell me how is its performance from the Driving Power, Pleasure and Fuel Economy angles.

If u have to choose from City 1.3 and Gli 1.3, go for Gli with closed eyes.
I m also waiting for delivery (July). Did a test drive at Toyota, it was not under power, driving is superior than city, comfort level is way ahead.
Selling City Aspire 1.5 PT for this.

    Go for it

Unfortunately Pakistan is one of those only countries which still receive or forced to drive 1.3 litre sedan of toyota (by using a small engine of vitz/yaris still) so its surely is underpowered when come to auto transmission result in pathetic low mileage figure specially in urban areas .

    Choose 1.6 if auto
1.3 fair enough with manual .

By the way the engine Honda is offering in 1.3 litre class is way advance in tech than Toyota in Pak .

    Think twice
    buy once
    Best of luck
    Cheers

It is highly underpowered car. The engine is old 2NZ FE which produces 63 kW output (84 BHP) and the weight of car is 1270 kgs which leads to poor Power to Weight Ratio.

Haven't driven it myself. One of my friends sold his City (2005 model) and bought 2010 model Xli (Manual) in pristine condition.

He had a miserable experience with it. Always complained it used to drive like a truck. No power at all.

Sold it for a loss of Rs. 70,000 within 3 months.

This 1.3 Engine begs mercy on this much heavy chassis...

    1. Driving Power: city leads here but the difference isn't much as both are 1.3 litre auto sedan's, the stock prosmatic mapping and dbw tuning is sluggish enough that the manual corolla(previous shape) with heavier body and 16 less horses was faster if properly shifted.

    2. Pleasure: corolla, city is smallish, hard suspension and noisier.

    3. Fuel Economy: corolla is much better than city prosematic(both 1.3 and 1.5) which drinks more fuel than civic manual.

@ yaarfarooq . Yup, I have driven 1.3 Auto. By the way, physics and logics says it all that it is underpowered.

better, even a 2002-2007 xli's crossed those 65hp jokes easily, but that shape city was best if u're gonna be chauffeured around, the most comfortable city ever.
