My friend owns Gli Auto, my first question after sitting in his car was ' is it underpowered '?
He didn't answer at that time and asked to wait, then he went to a road which is just long enough to achieve 100-110 km/h comfortably but he did between 110-120 easily, there wasn't so much sound as if someone is torturing the engine.
On return there was a slope on the road and I thought maybe here the car will lag, but the car easily did 60-70 km/h (which is normal speed achieved by other vehicles such as 10th Gen 1.3 Gli, 9th Gen 2.0D, A cultus when you floor it.)
On the whole I didn't feel it underpowered, my whole concentration was on speed, rpm and engine sound and the car worked fine.
However where it gets beaten by 1.3 Manual is fuel economy figures. That too within reasonable range giving auto the margin of lesser fuel economy.

Look you guys, I switched from a M/T (Manly Transmission) 8th Gen Civic to 1.3 GLi A/T. I should be the biggest complainant. If I'm not even murmuring that the GLi is underpowered, how can someone else claim it is. Yes, if someone switched from a C200 MB or 5 Series BMW or a Lexus (any one) then maybe i may be wrong. I've gotten used to it. Its not furious but it is fast.

The only test that has been left of my GLi, though I took it to Shah Allah Ditta and Alhamdulillah it went perfect.

That's the case with all cars; some cars just show more of an error than others.

I was coming by a Hiace from GIKI to Islamabad via M1 2 days ago; it showed 75-85 km/h on GPS. We were keeping up with traffic at that speed; most Hiace drivers drive around 90-100 according to the meter.

I want to test a Daewoo bus next; they drive 110 according to the meter.
_ 22 km/l from '03 VTi automatic, with plenty of room for improvement

That's with all cars, when you compare it with GPS, I've compared GPS speeds with actual meter speeds of 1.3 Gli (10th Gen), vitz, hiace, cultus......
I don't know whether companies have deliberately made meters fast or GPS system lags due to fast motion or satellite issue etc, but GPS speeds are always less than speedometer speeds.

    One Important point:
    City - 5 speed Auto.
    Corolla - 4 speed Auto.
More gears means more fuel economy n less engine noise.

GPS speed calculations are more accurate than a vehicle’s speedometer since it is not affected by the same inaccuracies, including the vehicle’s wheel size or drive ratios. It is dependent however on GPS satellite signal quality but with the use of moving average calculations any errors are minimal.
Vehicle speedometers also require calibration to maintain perfect accuracy as general wear and tear, changing wheel sizes, and the manufacturers own ‘erring on the side of caution’ and setting the speedometer to read higher than the actual speed, all contribute to inaccuracies.
Generally most manufacturers claim a 0.1MPH tolerance with speed readings, however will go as far to say a 0.5MPH inaccuracy is possible, to make allowances for any satellite signal variations beyond their control.

Bro, theres not much difference between gli auto and Altis 1.6
It's my suggestion and advice that you must go for Altis 1.6.
You will get more goodies, power, better transmission, better abs unit, and a less laggy car than gli auto. Also, you will get option of superwhite color with alloy rims of Enkei Japan.
I crossed one gli 1.3 auto while going to babusar top in my altis1.8 cvt, and believe me my car's rpm was at 3.5 and I could clearly hear the engine of that is struggling on these elevations.
Some frnds went to Monal on it and they were like somebody applied brakes in front of them at the turn and car came back at the turn due to less power. 5 guys were in it.
