Default 11th Gen Corolla (Hornet): An Unlucky Affair

Introducing Corolla GLi 1.3 (Super ECT)
Asalamoalikum respected PakWheel members and guests.
Alhamdolillah, Allah has blessed me with this brand new car after I let
Viper go to its next handler and keeper, after a very satisfying experience of a little over four years. With blessing from Allah (S.W) and friends like you, I hope to make this is a no-nonsense, extremely informative and enjoyable thread just like Viper. This cannot be possible without your support, appreciation, critique, guidance, sharing and participation. So hop in, like and subscribe.

But, the driving experience has not been anything more than average. The only aspect in which this car stands out (at the moment in Pakistan) is its shape.

    Thanks guys.

Thankyou Kamran bhai for apprising us that there is a striking resemblance between 11th Gen Corolla and a Lambo (In reversing/all around visibility). Wait! Let me just go out to the porch and kiss my ride. No wonder back view cameras are becoming so common these days.

Thanks Kamran bhai. Really appreciate i
    t.
I've seen your photo and yes you are big and tall Mashallah. Man!! That Corolla looks like Vitz in your background.
Apologies for being so late on this thread.

delighted to read the awesome descriptions and remarks of the experts and enthusiasts like Fazal and Fuoad and Kamran.

We build our cars not buy them with everything to be taken as granted. Jokes aside, any ways aim is not to copy Altis Grande. Got these items at bargain prices and seemed nice small updates.

Waiting for more pics and awesome upgrades.
I've owned 2010 XLi, 2010 GLi. Indeed Corolla is an excellent foundation but the thrill factor lies in Civic.

Let's not start corolla civic comparison here on this thread. You have very well presented your corolla here on this thread and people are liking it and want to talk and discuss about corolla only here. Let's keep it this way and let it be simple ☺

Bro i was quite skeptical that how come the fog bulbs in OEM Grande can be 19 W H16. Now i have seen them with my eyes on your thread.

    supposedly they are LED type.

As per the experience shared with me by the owner of grande that the light of fog lamps is near to none.

what could be done to improve the light in fog lights?

I assume you have already replaced these fog lights with 55W crystal vision??

I'm happy, this thread gave you the answer to your query and the solution too.
Yes, you have assumed correct. The original bulb with anemic wattage worked like spot lights. In fact you couldn't call them fog lights, a purpose for which they should be there. I replaced them with 12V 55W Philips Crystal Vision and boy, has it made some difference. Please note that these bulb neither blind the oncoming drivers nor they are installed for this purpose. You could (now) really tell the depth of a pot hole approaching or a crevice to steer clear of.

FRESH UPDATE: DRIVE, COMFORT AND HANDLING

Drove a couple more kilometers, but this time, a little aggressively just to clear some things up. Actually couple of days ago, while speaking to an enthusiast on the phone, I told him that switching from an 8th Gen Civic to the new Corolla, the handling seemed very numb and at times even slightest aggressive cornering seemed to be a forbidden sin. While hard braking was enjoyable, cornering almost scared the S*** out of me. So I drove the vehicle more and I'm happy to report that the vehicle keeps up with the driver (provided he is not high) at least upto 75 KMPH (the speed till which I've tested) in sharp corners (flat and inclined up/down). Lowering springs, nice performance rubber will further improve handling and spice up the drive. It is actually the EPS and very soft suspension that confuses the less adept driver. It's like demanding Aventador performance out of a Buick Verano.
So drive more to get to know the car more. But down the road, in my opinion, every owner instead of choosing the most softest luxury tyre should opt for something sportier and grippy just to reduce the effect of suspension travel. But people do it other way round. Few days back, I saw a gentleman making a deal with a tyre dealer who was luring him into 205/65-R15 and the buyer fell for it.

The words "Corolla" and "sporty handling" do not go well together, never did, and likely never will!

Sorry for going off topic, but any plans for a glass coat for the hornet? I am kind of confused when it comes to glass coating, people say that it'll protect against the swirl marks, well okay the car's body won't get the swirls but the glass coat itself is a surface will it not get those swirls? People say that you can get your car serviced at the pumps without the fear of swirls if the car is glass coated.
