Default 11th Gen Corolla (Hornet): An Unlucky Affair

Introducing Corolla GLi 1.3 (Super ECT)
Asalamoalikum respected PakWheel members and guests.
Alhamdolillah, Allah has blessed me with this brand new car after I let
Viper go to its next handler and keeper, after a very satisfying experience of a little over four years. With blessing from Allah (S.W) and friends like you, I hope to make this is a no-nonsense, extremely informative and enjoyable thread just like Viper. This cannot be possible without your support, appreciation, critique, guidance, sharing and participation. So hop in, like and subscribe.

But, the driving experience has not been anything more than average. The only aspect in which this car stands out (at the moment in Pakistan) is its shape.

The office boy came, sir gari wash kerni ha, I said no, baarish ha. He was where? Noting in F-7.

Like I always say, what's to come will come, anyway. Good share. Will consult MSN weather also, next time around. By the way, Mashallah, your ride is beautifully detailed. Try to keep it that way.

Thanks. I am trying to maintain it, that is why I have again restarted washing it myself and have not let office boy to wash it. Two buckets method, shampoo and DP waterless wash.

    PS: And weather forecast too

Brother, let me first congratulate you in advance. Inshallah, when you are there taking delivery of your car, in addition to the regular PDI check for these:
    1. Steering wheel alignment
    2. Scratches, Over Spray, Orange Peel in paint work
    3. Missing or loose "Makhis"

Generally, Toyota and Honda PDI are not that bad. I'd say okay. It's better that the nuts and bolts are checked when you report in the 1000 Km inspection. The three points that I've enumerated above are the ones generally observed in most or few of the cases.

I hope Fouad Sir does not mind me saying this here. But i would add negligible few words to the wisdom he shared.
I was delivered a 2013 Altis with the front bumper and LCA (Lower Control Arm) scratched while delivering the vehicle (loading/unloading on delivery truck). Also there was one drop of paint flowing all the way from the upper edge of the trunk to the lower side. At first i assumed it was water, but it was actual hardened clear-coated paint. You have to have a strict eye in my opinion. Hope it helps.

    Kind Regards.

Sir a detailed review of fuel economy would be so helpful for the prospective buyers and others like me Whenever you get some free time.

Ditch or loose the cheap HIDs and get these installed. More visibility with an awesome cut off line, clarity and above all, technically compatible to suit your car's battery and wiring, the proper way. I'll post some photos and if possible video for you people to judge. You may not take my word for it. I now know what I've been missing all these years.

    Many many congrats Fouad bhai

The best thread of 8th Gen Civic came 4.5 years after its launch
I must say Gli super ect auto fans and owners are lucky enough to see the best thread of Corolla Gli just after 10 months ..

    MA SHA ALLAH
Your car is looking really nice
Multifunction steering wheel and that auto tranny gear lever with silver garnish is looking just fantastic
Both of these things were on my list too but limited and tight budget kept me away from gettng this mouth watering stuff

I have gone through almost all pages today
Loved the thread MA SHA ALLAH ...

I cant quote exactly right now as i will have to check all those previous pages again but i dont agree at a few points
    Especially for the doors part

Since i kept 9th gen Civic for more than a year apart from fun factor , quality of Civic is much better in all aspects
Doors of Civic are much better than this corolla
You can feel the difference the moment you open or close it
Corollas door feels light and fails to impress when you close it
Yes they feel better than 8th Gen Civic

    Anyways
Waiting for further updates and pics

    Enjoy the ride
May ALLAH PAK bless you more

Man, what a post. The best so far. Thank you for going through the thread "in these testing times (yes, i'm referring to you)". Your thread on the 11th Gen Corolla was an inspiration for me before the birth of HORNET.
As for the doors part. You are right (partially). It's actually the 2-step door movement of the Civic where the door movement itself feels restrictive (in a good way) thereby requiring somewhat more force which simulates more weight. See? Been there, done that.
So if the Civic's door feels heavy, its because of that.
The Corolla's door open/close movement is in one-go-motion type besides requiring less force. I prefer the former. But that doesn't mean either manufacturer has skimped on the tolerances like Suzuki.

sorry for the late jump in, Masha Allah one beautifully kept car and a even better write up, your thread will be a inspiration for my own threads once i am free from exams.

A new gli is coming in our household too hopefully delivered by this month, your additions are great and all usefull so will be a big help in my time as well and we opted for black color too, even though we have 3 more black cars in the house!

as a detailing addict would love to see the ventures you do with this car.

once again awesome car and writeup.
If everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane!
