    Default 11th Gen Corolla (Hornet): An Unlucky Affair

    Introducing Corolla GLi 1.3 (Super ECT)
    Asalamoalikum respected PakWheel members and guests.
    Alhamdolillah, Allah has blessed me with this brand new car after I let
    Viper go to its next handler and keeper, after a very satisfying experience of a little over four years. With blessing from Allah (S.W) and friends like you, I hope to make this is a no-nonsense, extremely informative and enjoyable thread just like Viper. This cannot be possible without your support, appreciation, critique, guidance, sharing and participation. So hop in, like and subscribe.

    But, the driving experience has not been anything more than average. The only aspect in which this car stands out (at the moment in Pakistan) is its shape.

    Default 11th Gen Corolla (Hornet): An Unlucky Affair

    Its good to be back and it's even better to know how much I've been missed in good words. I earnestly thanks every single member or guest who may have expressed his well wishes in heart or on the forum. It doesn't feel like being part of a community, it feels like being a family.
    I'm well now, Alhamdulillah. Picked up my lappy a few times to address everyone of you and type my heart out but the lack of Dunhill Lights makes it difficult to differentiate between keys on the keyboard. Maybe on this weekend, perhaps?

    Good to have you back at the hot-seat --- Came to know for Heat-Stroke via @Spano few days back.

    Health is Wealth, and me happy to see you back recovering quickly -- God Bless.

    Now: For the hornet part -- you are bad, I starting liking her because of your comments for her and then a sudden u-turn was like breaking a dream

    anyways: tried calling you no answer, left a text.

    Fouad, i don't know much about cars but your signature caught my eye. *thumbs up*

    While i am at it, how do i add icons to the message? When i try selecting one from Post Icons, it adds them to the title instead of the message.

    Thanks Amer for the good wishes, you are right that it is a matter of personal preferences. Human element, Our national psyche and the automotive environment in the country are the biggest factors in deciding, buying, maintaining/running and re-selling. While it may not be a big deal owning a great car in the developed countries of the world, but over here, its the other way round.

    @itsgumbys
    Bhai, modifications and ad-ons are of different nature. Those who know what they are doing already know they are not making a 1.3L exceed a 1.8L, otherwise it would have been a called an engine/gearbox swap. For most of us, the mods are meant to make the vehicle more appealing and stand out from the rest of the crowd, or maybe copy another's idea just because he likes it. And yes, the sky's the limit.
    In the power department there is no comparison, there should be no comparison, however, comfort levels of both trims are the same because leatherette seats and chrome door latches or tweeters and a navi-system don't count in comfort.

    Yes, I agree as far as comfort goes. Driving pleasure is another factor. In that too it depends upon what you are specifically referring too. The 1.8L Grande is more fun to drive than 1.3L GLi in terms of power not in terms of handling where they dive into the same pool.

    Regards,
    @itsgumbys
    Thanks for the compliment brother. The amount spent on Hornet, if you analyse closely has not been aimed to enhance the driving experience. The small things have been put there just to satisfy the issue with us enthusiasts who like doing things every once in a while and remain excited, not get bored (as per our budgets) and remain connected with the car.
