Default 11th Gen Corolla (Hornet): An Unlucky Affair

Introducing Corolla GLi 1.3 (Super ECT)
Asalamoalikum respected PakWheel members and guests.
Alhamdolillah, Allah has blessed me with this brand new car after I let
Viper go to its next handler and keeper, after a very satisfying experience of a little over four years. With blessing from Allah (S.W) and friends like you, I hope to make this is a no-nonsense, extremely informative and enjoyable thread just like Viper. This cannot be possible without your support, appreciation, critique, guidance, sharing and participation. So hop in, like and subscribe.

But, the driving experience has not been anything more than average. The only aspect in which this car stands out (at the moment in Pakistan) is its shape.

Seats are lot better and comfy in this gen. I feel well rested, yet firmly placed.

are you sure these dont seem inviting? keep in my i have taken these pictures this afternoon and car is 5 years old, notice no wear on the bolsters nor any discolouration on leather nor any bad why stiching coming undone, i wasnt impressed with the upholstery in top line variants that much but thats only sitting in showroom for a breef and not actually owning and driving for long like i have done on this and gli

needless to say i think in doing this comparison between altis or gli we are ruining this thread and Hornet is best the way it is being a gli and not having a identity crisis like most people here comparing both variants. infact its what makes hornet and this thread special so lets not get sidetracked guys, i am eager to hear more on how hornet is getting on rather than this debate.

It's good that you have planned to keep this Corolla but I believe that you still haven't shared the cause of calling it "Unlucky affair"
You were very much satisfied with this car, you busted the myth of Gli auto being underpowered, then all of a sudden you put that car for sale. What was that reason?

I think it's human instinct. We are never satisfied with what we have and always want a different and better thing. When I had xli, I wanted a Gli and Altis. So now I have 1.6, I want Grande. When I will have Grande, God knows what I will want... may be the upcoming turbo Civic

Crushes and human nature aside, this car lacks in one aspect that may not be a big deal for many others but is surely for me. Let me share it with you today Inshallah.

that thing must be power... 80 odd horsepower isn't enough for a big truck like a corolla

That is a general statement about the driving experience not being upto the mark. Driving experience can be known by driving the subject car for a few Kms. If that is not enough then perhaps a few trips will do. But Fouad bhai has driven his car for 1000 Km. Kept it for two months. He drove it to Peer Sohawa and claimed that the route was a piece of cake for this car. Then all of a sudden his views changed all together about driving experience. How does that happen?

    waiting brother.

also regarding seats, sat in altis and the seats are like more to them selves not very hugging i think coz of leather.

whereas in fabric it seemed comfy like absorbing feeling. rest is a personal choice.

i wouldnt mind leather, but considering comfort for rest of the family probably fabric suits more.

regarding selling ur ride and getting absurd offers, u can try olx too coz recently i came to know that some times (still subjective) things get sold there faster.

u surely do need to ignore absurd offers with big heart. this is life and people in our country are all very akalmand .

    Lolz
    Both have same seats

Someone here said grande has bucket seats in which your body gets proper fit lolz
Someone said something about Molty Foam

The seats are same ( front seats )
Only difference is low grade fabric high grade fabric and leather thats it
Even Glis front seat is a bucket seat and gives that feeling of proper fitting lolz someone said about grande

    To be honest
I dont really like the seats of 11th Gen Corolla
Rear one is really nice and comfortable
    But front seats are bad
And if you compare it with 9th gen Civics front seats then i will give it 5 out of 10 and civic 8 out of 10

Nahi bro. I have 9th gen civic. I just don't like it's seats. They are hard as hell no foam at all, making the ride more uncomfortable. In fact I prefer the relaxing seats of Grande.
And for the for the first time in new shape city honda atlas has come with much better seats specially better then civic.

Bhai jaan duniya ki kal kabhi nahi aati but aap ki "today" nahi a k de rahi :-P

    Regarding lack in one aspect....

"Ab to ghabra k ye kehte hain k marr jaen ge

Marr k bhi chain na aya to kidhar jaen ge"

Brother in this short life, one won't get perfect things, one should enjoy whatever he has, otherwise our life would only revolve around ifs and buts...!
    Stay blessed.
