Default 11th Gen Corolla (Hornet): An Unlucky Affair

Introducing Corolla GLi 1.3 (Super ECT)
Asalamoalikum respected PakWheel members and guests.
Alhamdolillah, Allah has blessed me with this brand new car after I let
Viper go to its next handler and keeper, after a very satisfying experience of a little over four years. With blessing from Allah (S.W) and friends like you, I hope to make this is a no-nonsense, extremely informative and enjoyable thread just like Viper. This cannot be possible without your support, appreciation, critique, guidance, sharing and participation. So hop in, like and subscribe.

But, the driving experience has not been anything more than average. The only aspect in which this car stands out (at the moment in Pakistan) is its shape.

I've had very bad experiences while changing songs, adjusting the equalizer, re-routing Sat Nav destinations either through touch interface or the clumsy remote. Either way for that crucial split second or two, your eyes leave the road and that's where problems arise. The steering controls IMHO should be considered as passive safety measures and made standard in all cars.

    EPIC UNBOXING OF YEAR 2015

    Corolla &quotHornet" -1569911Corolla &quotHornet" -1569912

Ditch or loose the cheap HIDs and get these installed. More visibility with an awesome cut off line, clarity and above all, technically compatible to suit your car's battery and wiring, the proper way. I'll post some photos and if possible video for you people to judge. You may not take my word for it. I now know what I've been missing all these years.
Bro can you tell me the price for these, and the cost of pair for high beam as well. Any yeah the bulb number for low, high and fog lamps

Not so sure but have heard they have lesser life compared to those of regular bulbs, is it so?

    Thanks in advance

On your new car the combo of the lake country pad + UP will give you very nice results.

Sir, each and every word of yours encourages me to be more productive, objective and vivid. Even the smallest help or role in your decision making will be considered an achievement. May Allah bless you with the ride that He deems suitable for you and may you be satisfied and content with His decision Inshallah.
Inshallah, if I'm feeling well today (Sunday), will drive uphill to either label it a fact or bust the myth once and for all. Got a severe case of throat and chest infection with fever.

Okay, this is a highly subjective issue and a number of factors could be coined in to reach a conclusion and even after reaching that conclusion I bet you will still be confused between "dull white" and "attitude black". So here's what to do. You and I mean YOU alone, in the deepest and sincerest corner of your heart already know what you love. Your judgement or decision is being clouded by various factors pushing you back to where you started from. So here's the deal: This "dull white" that I like calling it for some reason has been there from IMC on our roads since 2003/2004 Corolla (maybe even earlier). I consider it to be a bigger nightmare than black. You could bring out all the shine / gloss and the bling in it but you still won't achieve what your heart wants: A little purish white, right?

Seemingly, dust free, it does not get all the attention required on time since we do not carefully detail this colour and take it for granted that it's clean. Surface contamination and oxidation build up over time, will render it to look creamish. Secondly, if you like distinguishing your ride from the rest of the pack, you will have to invest in nicer and bigger wheels, some tints, spoiler or a body kit. Be different or get lost into the swarm.

On the other hand, unless you live somewhere near Naga Parbat, dust is your black car's best buddy. Dust is easily visible on black. It is true that you will have to take care of black a little more than the dull white. People call this "safai iski azaab hai". Is it not a good thing that a car is getting slightly more attention than half white?

Take into account these factors (on a scale of 1-5):
    1. How dusty is the area where you live or drive?
    2. How much do you like detailing cars irrespective of the colour?
    3. Do you have helpers (or a driver) around the house who could be trained in basic detailing?
    4. Are you willing to spend on quality detailing products?

The truth is, black is the colour of authority, may it be a well tailored suit or a diplomatic car. How many presidents have you seen riding in an official white colour, strong blue, flexen mica or even medium silver car? Okay, I know the president is out of our league. But black is bad a$$, period. It WILL require more washing and swirls will be more pronounced (if YOU let too much of that happen to the ride).

Of late, I've been seeing a growing trend towards black in almost every other car. Man, should people stop buying black because of dust in our environment? Again, if you use your car merely as a mean of conveyance from point A to B and back go for dull white. If you are care free and don't have the time/helping hand to cater for black and a couch potato like me get the dull white.

But nothing beats that head-turning shiny, deep gloss, wet-looking black sedan with light tinted windows that passes by you. Satisfied? Was that helpful? You bet........I can still see Mr Bean on the other side of this conversation.

Brother you are a gem for pakwheels, a very well elaborated answer and beautifully touching every aspect of each color. Thanks a lot in taking out so much time in writing a detailed answer. My mind is almost clear but still as you said in the end.
    am still Mr Bean.

These are small items and you can bring along easily and are definitely worth it.

Rest have a safe journey and pray for us.
Bulbs are h11 for fogs ?
I already have OEM scuff plates illuminated ( not purchased from 3S) installed in my ride already have multi function steering control not full though but satisfied and not intend to change will look for aluminium pedal set.

I've installed two sets of Philips Crystal Vision H11 12V 55W (one in Low Beam and the other in Fog Lamps). I'm going to look for the same in high beam for the sake of symmetry in shades. Will further ask Babar bhai as to what he recommends because all technical details need to be catered for instead of behaving like people slapping HIDs every where in their rides.

    MORE UNBOXING

Got a set of non-illuminated OEM Toyota scuff plates (or door sills that they used to be called back in the days of Viper). An important piece of accessory if you want to really keep that place clean and scuff/marks/scratch - free. My previous ride had lots of them which I had to clean every month.
